Paint the Town

It's Day 3 of the bold and bright challenge on the Penny Black Blog. Today, I thought I'd go with the colors in my blog banner...red, blue and pink!

....and I even took it a step further and made loops with my ribbon and made my layout sort of the same as the banner. Hehe, definitely funky and fun! To get the ribbon to stay in loops, I just added little pieces of 1/8" Scor Tape in a couple spots. The matted main image is up on foam tape and I added Stickles to the paint in the paint can and on the paint brush. The main image is from 30-070 Paint the Town. The background stamping on the large blue panel was done with a stamp from 30-068 Trims. Penny Black Mix & Match CS colors are Rose Garden, Coral Reef and Blue Lagoon.

Here's the inside of the card using the same stamp sets and CS colors...

Thanks for visiting today and I'll see you tomorrow with one more bright and bold challenge card!

SUPPLY LIST ~ Penny Black Stamps: 30-068 Trims, 30-070 Paint the Town Paper: Neenah White, True Black Penny Black Mix & Match Papers: 14-002 Rose Garden, 15-003 Coral Reef, 09-001 Blue Lagoon Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Ballet Blue Copics: G20, G21, G40, BG0000, BG11, W1, W3, W5, 0, R20, R22, R46, R81, R83, R85 Accessories: Spellbinders Circles, MFT Button Die-namics, Foam Tape, Stardust Stickles, Ribbons, Paper Piercing Tool & Mat Pack

Bright & Bold Color Challenge on the PB Blog

Hi all! I'm hosting the reader challenge this week on the Penny Black Blog and I'm challenging everyone to go bold and bright. Bold and bright isn't something I normally do...and after chatting with my blogging friend Andrea about styles, I realized I also usually stay away from three-color combos on my cards. I usually go with two colors plus a neutral. Soooo.....for this challenge, I'm going to try and break myself out of my own box by not only going bold and bright but also going with a trio of colors. So.....here's my first card for the week...

I went with bright blue, orange, and yellow! It's a 5" square card. I added Stickles to the water and in the centers of the flowers.

Hop on over to the Penny Black Blog and check out the details of the challenge. If you participate, link up your project on the Penny Black Flickr Gallery, you'll have a chance to win a little something! :) Have a great day!

Bedtime Story

Hey all and happy Easter! We're all hanging out in our jammies this a.m., lounging....and crafting! Yay! I made this card for this week's MFT sketch with Bedtime Story that I got from my sweet friend Michelle at Stamper's Dream (thanks so much, Michelle!). I do love these sweet PI girls!

The orange matting (fall festival) is mix & match CS by Penny Black and the DP is Little Girl by Echo Park. The orange circle and "and then some" sentiment are both up on foam tape.

It looks like it's going to be one GORGEOUS, sunny day here in PA today...perfect for an Easter Sunday. We'll be doing the egg hunt thing and visiting with family today so I'd better get a move on and get showered. Have a VERY Happy Easter!

SNSS Birthday Blog Hop

Hi all! Today I'm hopping along in the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps customer blog hop.

This month's theme is to make a birthday project so I inked up and colored these sweet birds from One of a Kind and paired them up with a sentiment from So Frog-getful. I got both of those sets at the Allentown stamp show last weekend...thanks, Korin! Extra birds and leaves were stamped, colored, cut out, and popped up on foam tape. The clouds and Spellbinders leaves are also up on foam tape. Stickles were added to the leaves and curly limbs.

Here's a close-up of the dimension and a shot of the sparkle...

...and here's the inside of the card where I added some DP and more die-cut leaves.

I really need to get back to decorating the insides of my cards consistently again. I used to do that all the time.....then I guess I just got lazy or something, lol!

That's it for me today. Thanks for visiting and I'll be back tomorrow with a Sweet Stop Sketch card.

Hi everyone! There's an ATC Challenge on the Penny Black Blog this week. If you play along and upload your ATC to the PB Flickr Gallery tagged with “pennyblackatc” by Midnight PST on Sunday night, you'll have a chance to receive a brand new transparent stamp set and some Mix & Match cardstock!

I made this ATC (2.5" x 3.5") with my "To You" transparent set (which happens to be the stamp set that's up for grabs as a prize this week) and some dark 11-003 Periwinkle Mix & Match CS. The butterfly was colored with Copic markers and it's up on foam tape.

I decided to make my ATC into a full-sized card...

The ATC panel is popped up on foam tape and the butterfly is on a second layer of foam tape. The papers in the background are 11-001 Periwinkle Mix & Match and Echo Park Little Boy DP. The brick background was done with a Tim Holtz texture fade embossing folder.

That's it for me today. Thanks for taking the time to visit! :)
