Heartfelt Thanks

Hi all and happy Monday. I just finished up working for the day and wanted to play with the final Viva la Verve sketch for this month.

The punched Verve sentiment is popped up on foam tape, papers are Fine and Dandy Girl by My Mind's Eye, the rustic button is from PTI, cloud and ribbon dies are from MFT Stamps, and I just got this FUN Pink Sorbet twine from the Twinery. Love the color!

That's it for me today. I have a couple more things to do before Kara gets home from school and then we'll be baking up some cupcakes so she can take them in to school tomorrow (for her class birthday party). Enjoy the rest of your day! :)

Happy Birthday, Kara!

Well, technically it's not her birthday YET, but tomorrow we're having her roller skating party with her friends and then we'll be having family over to the house afterward, and I wanted to show you the card I made for her.

The cat stamp (Tulip Jungle) and sentiment (Critter Party) are both from Penny Black. The image was stamped on Sparkle Blanc CS from Paper Temptress, colored with Copic markers, Stickles were added to the tulips, and then I cut out the whole image and popped it up on foam tape. The layout is Freshly Made Sketch #19. I made sure to add seven rhinestones to the card since the birthday girl is turning a big SEVEN this coming week. Wow! already....sigh....

Okay, so on that note....have yourself a great weekend! Whooo-hooooo....TGIF!

Viva La Verve Week 3 Sketch

Hey there! This card is for another good friend of mine and I want to surprise her with some happy mail just to let her know how much she makes me smile. It's fun to send random "happy mail"....and I'm trying to do it more often. :)

The layout is the Week 3 Viva La Verve Sketch. The sentiment is from Feel the Sun and the butterflies were cut with the Flutterby die. There are two butterflies, each popped on separate layers of foam tape, and I added a small twine bow on top of them. Papers are Jack & Jill Quite Contrary by My Mind's Eye.

Wryn and Wren

Hey there! Well, the snow stopped by mid morning yesterday, Dan got the driveway cleaned off, and our friends came over as planned. Yay!

I made this card for Tiddly Inks Challenge #78, which is a color challenge to use yellow, orange, green and blue. I had the image already colored with everything except the orange...don't ya love when that happens?? have something already ready to go for a challenge before you've even SEEN the challenge? Anyway, the image is one of the newest Wryn images from Tiddly Inks, called Wryn and Wren Too Tweet. It's colored with Copics, cut out with a Spellbinders die, popped up on foam tape, and Stickles were added to Wryn's barrette, shirt, and sneakers. The layout is the Viva La Verve Week 2 Sketch. Papers are all My Mind's Eye (Quite Contrary Jack & Jill as well as Fine and Dandy Girl). The sentiments are from a couple different clear sets (MFT and My Cute Stamps). Yeah, this card is a mix of all different companies, huh? I know some people have mentioned on blog posts that they don't like to do that, but the way I see it is this card is going to a "non-stamper"....and she'll have NO idea!..and even if she did, I don't think it'll make any difference to her. :)

Boy, sorry...didn't mean to talk your ear off there. Thanks so much for stopping by and whatever your plans are for today, I hope you enjoy yourself! :)

Bring Your Own Sunshine

Good morning. I made this card for someone who was feeling a little down and I hope it brightened her day.

The fun layout is Mojo Monday Sketch #224. Two Flutterby butterflies were cut out and glued down on separate layers of foam tape. The sentiment is from Feel the Sun. Papers are Fine and Dandy Girl by My Mind's Eye.

ETA: The "fold" in the ribbon is something I saw Amy Sheffer do (on THIS card here)...thought it was cool and had to try it myself. Mine didn't come out as "neat" looking as hers. I think mine looks kind of messy, but it was fun to try. Speaking of messy....

When I tie bows with twine, the loops always "twist" for some reason and I fight with it to get it to look right. Does anyone have any twine-tying tips??

We're supposed to have our friends over tonight for a "Jambalaya Night," but it snowed a little last night. I guess we'll have to see if this little storm clears up by later today or if they want to reschedule. I hope it still works out that they can come over, but we'll see how it goes. {fingers crossed}

Have a fannnnnn-tastic Saturday! :)

Somebunny Loves You

I saw on FB that there were two new Wryn images at Tiddly Inks, ran right over to the site and bought them up. Toooooo cute! Here's one of them...

The layout is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #150, the main panel is up on foam tape, Wryn is colored with Copics, Stickles were added for sparkle, and the papers are Ohh La La by My Mind's Eye.

That's it for me today. Short and sweet. Have a good one!

Belated Birthday Frog

I just love this frog set from Sweet 'n Sassy that I got from Korin at one of the local stamp shows. I'm trying to get a good stash of birthday cards and this image is so perfect for "belated" birthday cards.....we need a small stash of those as well, right?...when dates SNEAK up on us before we can get things in the mail?? Yep, I'm guilty of that. :)

I can't find the stamp set in Korin's store to link up to it here on my post, but I do see she has a couple other digi images and sets with the same frog. You can see them by clicking HERE with your mouse. I used my Fine & Dandy Girl papers by My Mind's Eye and added some twine bows to the pennants that are in the paper. The frog is colored with Copics and I added Stickles to his spots.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I love when you do! :)

Coolest Chick

Good morning, everyone. I can't believe it's Monday already. The weekend was fun and flew by! On Saturday, we met up with some friends to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D with all the kids, went out for shrimp and crab for dinner, and Dan and I played a game of Taboo with Hailey and Nate after Kara went to bed (and us old farts won by ONE point...whoo-hoo!). Then yesterday we went to my cousin's house to make homemade spaghetti sauce. :)

I just bought this Chicks Rule set (yay!...another set I've wanted for soooo long) by Verve and I made this card specifically for a very good friend of mine....she's awesome!

The layout is Mojo Monday Sketch 223 from last week. The bottom circle with the chick is up on foam tape. The chick is colored with Copics and Stickles were added to the daisy. Papers are Fine & Dandy Girl from My Mind's Eye.

So today is a holiday, but it's a regular work day for me. How about you? you have off today or are you back to the grind?

Whatever your plans are, I hope you have a good day!

Flutterby Birthday

Hi all! I just bought this new Flutterby die from Verve and I couldn't wait to play with it. I think it's soooo cute!

The layout is the Viva la Verve Week 1 Sketch. There are two die-cut butterflies. I have each of them on separate layers of foam tape. The stamped birthday sentiment is also from Verve...a freebie that came in my package! :) Papers are Jack & Jill Quite Contrary by My Mind's Eye.

Have an awesome Saturday! We'll be headed to the movies this afternoon to see Beauty and the Best in 3D. :)

Spoil Yourself Silly

...yep....ANOTHER puppy birthday card. :) This time I used my Penny Black "Hello Friend" and "Bubbly" clear sets.

The cloud is up on foam tape and diamond glaze was added to the headlights and windshield.

I'm sending this one off to another male family member....hope it works okay as a masculine card.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a good day. :)

Okay...I have found myself a new digi character that I absolutely adore! It's Wryn from Tiddly Inks. Isn't she cuuuute?!....and OMG, so fun to color! I downloaded TWO of the new Wryn images...this one that I'm showing you on my card today and the one holding the heart bouquet.

My card measures 5" square, the layout is Deconstructed Sketch #33, I colored the image with Copics, Stickles were added for sparkle, and the sentiment (from an old SU set) is popped up on foam tape. Patterned papers are My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy.

Hope you've had a great day!

Coconut Chicken Salad Recipe Card

So now that the holidays are over, I'm trying to get back to eating "healthier" foods. I just tried THIS coconut chicken salad recipe earlier this week from and I really liked it so I figured I'd make it into a recipe card for my binder.

I know, I know....a lot of people don't like coconut....but I do! Yum!! :) The card measures 5" x 7" stamps on this one...just the butterfly die, bling, lace ribbon, Stickles on the butterfly, and sewing. Done and done. :)

If you'd like to see the recipe binder and sheet protectors I use, here are the links:

Dad's Birthday Card

Good morning! Check me out....a blog post TWO days in a row...whoo-hooo, I'm getting back in the crafting groove. Feels good! :)

My dad's birthday is coming up later this month so I made this card for him using Mojo Sketch #222. The stamped sentiment is from my Verve "Big Wish" set, papers are My Mind's Eye Ooh La La, and dies are by Spellbinders. The large star is up on foam tape.

Here's a peek at the inside...

Have an awesome day!

Birthday Butterfly

Hey there! I'm back with another birthday card....just a quick, CAS butterfly card with some bling. :)

Both butterflies (SU dies) are up on separate layers of foam tape. All the patterned papers are from my MME Ooh La La pack. The stamped sentiment is from my Penny Black Critter Party (!) clear set.

That's it for me today...short and sweet. Have a good one!

Critter Party Puppy

Hi there and happy January 3rd. Hubby is back to work and the kiddo is back to school....and I have the house to myself again! Ahhhhh, it's so quiet around here! :) Last night I had some time to craft and I'm in need of a couple birthday cards this week, so here's the first one I made....

The layout is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch. I took inspiration from her card and ruffled up my ribbon. The puppy, stamped butterfly, and sentiment are from my Penny Black Critter Party set (yes, I love this set and use it a lot....especially that birthday sentiment...hope you're not sick of seeing it). The main image is up on foam tape and Stickles were added for some pretty sparkle. The card measures 4" square.

Have a really great day!

Happy New Year!

Hi all and happy 2012!! I hope you enjoyed your New Year's Eve last night. We stayed home. Other than having a rotten cold, I loved every minute of staying home and relaxing in my sweats....I decided it would be a good time to do some crafting, too, so I blew the dust off my stamp table and got to work. Here's what I made...

My awesome, sweet friend Dawn (love that girl) sent me a package of goodies last month that included some felt and this SWEET Jolinne stamp. The layout is MFT Sketch #52. Stickles were added to the string of hearts Jolinne is holding. The felt heart and cut-out sentiments are all up on foam tape.

Have a really great day! I'll be off this a.m. to the grocery store to stock up on some "healthy" foods.....gotta get a few pounds off (too much indulging in sweets this past month)...ugh!
