Make a Wish

Hi everyone and happy Sunday!  We stayed up WAY too late last night watching the race, making t-shirts for a mud run we're doing next weekend, and playing with our new chickens.....that's right....we now have chickens....heehee! Too fun!

I made this card for Deconstructed Sketch 49.  The pink oval is up on foam tape and I added some sparkly Stickles to the cupcake icing and candle flame.  Papers are Fine and Dandy Girl by My Mind's Eye.  The stamped image and sentiment are from my Penny Black Critter Party clear set.

Sorry if my pictures are blurry. I recently got a virus on my desktop computer and Dan is still working on fixing it....so I'm using my little netbook to write up blog posts and I won't have Photoshop until the desktop computer is fixed.  I miss my Photoshop for editing pictures.  Anyway....enough about the virus.  On a happy note, here's a pic of the chickens....

Meet Eeeny, Meeny, Miney, and Norm (Dan wanted to name one Norm)....lol!

Have a great day, all!

Celebrate

Hey there!  We'll be headed to the playground later this afternoon for a play date with some friends and two of the kids (twins) have a birthday this week so I'm taking this card along for them.

Papers are On The Bright Side-One, the stars were made with Spellbinders dies, the flag was cut with my MFT ribbon Die-namics, the sentiment is a Delta stamp that I picked up at Mike's or AC Moore, and the ric-rac is cut with another Die-namics die from MFT.  All three stars are up on separate layers of foam tape and I added some quick machine stitching just to fill in that open area in the upper right-hand corner.

Okay, I'd better get going. Kara will be off the bus shortly and we'll be off to the playground. Have a good one!  :)

Baby Shower Gifts

Hi all! Are you having a nice weekend?  Ours has been very good.  I went to the farmer's market and grocery store on Friday, went out to breakfast yesterday with sweet Carol, had a play date with some of Kara's school friends at the playground, and today was my cousin's baby shower.  Here's what I made for her...

I saw this idea on Pinterest from the Little Birdie Secrets blog and just had to try it.  It's four receiving blankets and four onesies made to look like cupcakes.  I even bought a cake box at Walmart to put them in. I had a lot of fun making these.  :)

The card was inspired by Renee's "5 minute" baby card. I loved the simplicity of the umbrella and bow.

Have a really great night and thanks so much for stopping by.  :)

......and P.S.....what the hell is up with the new Blogger?....it's SOOOOOO hard to move pictures around now when writing up a post. Oye!

Fairy Sweet Day

Hi all. Kara's soccer game was SOOOOO much fun on Saturday. She impressed us so much. At her two practices last week, she had fun but she wasn't being real "aggressive" with the ball. Well, oh my word, she surprised the heck out of us on Saturday and was an AWESOME defensive player. She has never played soccer before so we were so proud of her for doing so well and she had tons of fun. :)

Yesterday morning I made this card with one of my new Wryn images. This one is called Fairy Wishes. Cute, huh?

The cool layout is Jen del Muro's SFYTT for April. I added Stickles to Wryn's wings for sparkle and she's colored with Copics (E00, E11, E13, E27, E31, E35, E51, W1, W3, W5, G21, G24, G28, G40, B0000, B00, B02, Y00, Y11, Y15, R20, R22, R24). Papers are Thrift Shop by October Afternoon. The three small stars at the top are up on foam tape and the large red star is doubled up on foam tape. Here's a close-up...

Alrighty......I'm off to the dentist for my 6-month check-up and cleaning. Do.not.feel.like.going.....

Have a GREAT day!

CAS Stars

Hi everyone. Is your weekend off to a good start? Kara has her very first soccer game today so we're looking forward to that later on. I wanted to make a CAS card with my Spellbinders stars. Here's what I came up with...

The silver brads are from Michael's, grey twine is from the Twinery, stamped sentiment is from Verve, papers are On the Bright Side-One by My Mind's Eye, and I added some machine stitching to the borders and then distressed them with my fingernail. The large white panel is up on foam tape against the base of the card.

Hope you have a really great weekend and thanks so much for stopping by. :)

Tiddly Inks Anniversary Celebration!

Hi everyone! By now you all probably know how much I love Wryn images from Tiddly Inks, right? (very much!) Well, I'm very excited to share a special card with you today to help celebrate Tiddly Inks' 2-year anniversary celebration! Thanks to Christy and Melissa for inviting me to join in on the fun! Be sure to check out the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog and Christy's Blog for details.

The theme for the celebration is "Frame the Moment" and I got to color up this sweet Wryn Birthday Girl image. She's colored with Copics (0, W1, W3, W5, E00, E11, E13, E27, E31, E35, E51, R000, R00, R11, R20, R22, R24) and Stickles were added to her hair bows and the bows/ribbon on the gifts. For the frame theme I added a frame of machine stitching, a frame of DP, and a large frame using my polka dot Frameabilities die by Spellbinders. The polka dot frame is up on foam tape and so is the flag sentiment/paper button.

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a great day, and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to Tiddly Inks!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Guest!

Whooo-hoooo, I'm so excited! I'm guest designing this week along with Karen Giron and her sketch team. How cool is that?! Karen's sketches are always so fun and this one is no exception. :) Here it is...

...and here's my sample...

The stamp is by Elzybells and it's called Daisy Canopy. It was stamped on white CS with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics (W1, W3, G20, YG03, YG63, YG67, Y21, Y32, YR04, YR68, YR21, YR24). Stickles were added to the egg and daisy. The scallop kraft matting and the large yellow die-cut tag are up on separate layers of foam tape. The sentiment was made on the computer with Pristina font and then cut out with the ribbon diet. The tag and ribbon dies are MFT Die-namics and the rectangle/scallop rectangle are Spellbinders. Papers are On the Bright Side-One and On the Bright Side-Two.

Here's a close-up of the dimension...

Flutterby Trio

Check out this COOL apple card by Melinda Spinks. Oh my word, LOVE it and it totally inspired me to make this card...

I used Verve's Flutterby Die and sentiment from Fluttering By. The three butterflies are up on foam tape on the card base. A second peach butterfly was added and popped up on a second layer of foam tape and then the wings were bent up on each side. Here's a close-up...

Papers are Howdy Doody by My Mind's Eye and I added some PTI buttons with silver cord.

Sweet dreams!

CAS Butterflies

Hello again. Here's another rainbow card. This time I went with a butterfly theme using one of my Martha Stewart butterfly punches. I'm really having fun playing with my dies and punches this week and making them the focus of my cards.

The three larger butterflies are up on foam tape, I added a border to the top and bottom using my EK Success wavy dot punch, some machine stitching, and stamped the birthday sentiment from Penny Black Critter Party. Here's the inside where I added more butterflies...

Thanks for stopping by. :)
