Posing Bunny

Here's a card I made on Sunday for the High Hopes Sketch Challenge.

Michelle's awesome sample card that you can see HERE (so pretty!) reminded me about this Posing Bunny stamp I bought last year...one that I fell in love with but bought toward the end of the Easter season, so I never got a chance to make a card with it. Now I did! Love it!!

The Labels One Nestabilities panel is up on Dimensionals. I added Angel Wings Shimmerz paint to the white fur and tail. I also got to play with my new Parisian Breeze DP for the first time. The sentiment is from the SASI Year of Sweet Sentiments set.

Here's the inside of the card:

Here's a close-up of the Shimmerz:

Magic Fairy

Hey everyone!

Here's a 5.25" square card I made with my Lily Magic Fairy image from Stamper's Dream. You can also get the Mini Messages sentiment stamp, Stickles, Intense Teal Prism paper, Neenah White CS, and white adhesive-backed pearls there too.

I colored two images, cut out the fairy (minus the wings) and small mushroom top from the second image, and popped them up on Dimensionals over the base layer. Diamond Stickles were added to her wings and the sparkles all around her. The scalloped mat panel behind the main image is up on Dimensionals as well.

The layout is Mojo Sketch #71.

I'm bananas for Sgt Stamper!

Yep, it's no secret...I think she's pretty awesome! I'm so glad I've gotten to know her through SCS and blogging. In case you didn't know, Jami is one of the artists for 2 Red Bananas. They just released a bunch of new sets, and Jami sent me one of the sets along with some AMAZING ribbon. OMWord, what a sweetheart!! Thanks again, Jami!!

She drew this image to look like her dog, Shadow. She says it's just like him to sit right in the middle of a butterfly bush. Hehe! Ever since she mentioned his name in the sneak peeks, I keep referring to the set as the "Shadow set"....LOL! That's not right though, the real name of the set is Value of Joy.

For this first card, I followed Jen Del Muro's Sketch for You to Try. I also added some December Sky Shimmerz paint to Shadow's (see, there I go again) bandana, and Golden Wheat Shimmerz paint to the butterfly and flowers. I love Shimmerz!! The rhinestones in the center of the punched butterfly are Taylor's Tiny Twinkles....love these little cuties too!! The yummy ribbon is from the Fabulous Jami and that fabulous ribbon store she has there in Korea.

Here's the inside of the card:

SUPPLY LIST ~
Stamps: 2 Red Bananas Value of Joy
Paper: Cool Caribbean, SU Watercolor Paper, Chocolate Chip, Marigold Morning, Friends & Flowers DP
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, Basic Brown, Wild Wasabi, Cool Caribbean, Marigold Morning
Accessories: December Sky and Golden Wheat Shimmerz, Taylor's Tiny Twinkles, Satin Ribbon, Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, SU Curly Label Punch
Technique: Watercoloring with Reinkers
Card Size: 5.25" Square

I totally got on a roll with stamping and coloring images...so I made a second card.

This one follows Taylor's TECC53 sketch. The dog is layered three times...the full image on the base, just the dog as a second layer, and the bandana as the third. They're each up on Dimensionals. See the little punched half-circle next to the ribbon?...that's a trick from Dawn that I saw on THIS CARD. Cool trick! The yummy ribbon on this card is also from the lovely Jami. The three Chocolate brads are from Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts.

Here's the inside of the card. The sentiment is also from the Value of Joy set.

SUPPLY LIST ~
Stamps: 2 Red Bananas Value of Joy
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Marigold Morning, White, SU Bella Birds DP
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics (B32, B39, B45, BV02, W5, 0, E25, E33, E35G21, G24, G28, Y38)
Accessories: Chocolate Brads, Satin Ribbon, 1" Circle Punch, Spellbinders Labels One, Dimensionals
Card Size: 5.25" Square

That's it for today! Have a good one and I'll see you soon!

Oh P.S......Did you see the Shootout last night? KEVIN WON! Whoooooo-hooooooooo! After going 71 races without a win, he did it....he started the race in the VERY back, came out of nowhere and made a final lap pass for the win. I was so excited! Actually all our guys had good finishes. My husband is a Tony Stewart fan, and Tony finished third. My daughter is a Jeff Gordon fan, and he finished fourth. I know my pal Dawn is happy about that too!!

Did you happen to catch the ARCA race that Sherry mentioned? Wow, there were some really bad crashes. It amazes me how much better the new Cup cars stay together, compared to the ones used in the ARCA series.

Bud Shootout 2009!!

Yipeee!! After the long winter break, NASCAR season is back in swing. Tonight at 8 p.m. EST is the Bud Shootout! You better believe we'll be tuned in and filling the room with the sound of cars! Ahhhh, I've missed that sound.

My good friend (and fellow race fan!) Dawn Easton and I thought it would be fun to make a couple racing-related cards today to celebrate the season being back underway...well, it's the Shootout, so I guess it's the UNofficial official start of the season. Anyhooo...be sure to check out Dawn's card too. I'm anxious to see it myself!! I'll bet it's super cute. Oh, and give her an extra little {cyber hug} because she's not feeling well.

Feel free to play along with us if you'd like! Dawn even came up with a keyword for SCS uploads. Just make a card that has something to do with racing and upload to SCS with keyword NASCAR1. Oh, and we're going to do this again next Sunday for the Daytona 500!

My card is a 5.25" square card....and it's KEVIN HARVICK themed...of course! {smile} The colors on my card are the same colors as his Shell Pennzoil car, if you look closely at the red panel you'll see I stamped some shells on there, and his number is there too. I made the checkered flag with Rose Ann's Ribbon Weaving Technique...finally got a chance to try it. Fun!...and great for making checkered flags!

The yellow circle with the #29 is up on Dimensionals and so is the punched sentiment. Both were stamped in white Craft ink and heat embossed with red embossing powder. I made the #29 and *Go Kevin* sentiment with my JustRite Brayton font and circle stamper. Did you know you can get the JustRite products, including this Brayton font and the wooden stampers, at both Stamper's Dream and Taylored Expressions? You can! Matter of fact, you can get the Classic Red Prism Paper at both stores too!

Thank you, Jodi, for the awesome May Arts ribbon!! It goes perfectly with Kevin's colors!

Here's what the inside of the card looks like:

SUPPLY LIST ~
Stamps: JustRite Brayton Font, Crafty Secrets Seaside
Paper: PTI White, SU Summer Sun, SU Basic Black, Prism Classic Red
Ink: Versamark, White Craft
Accessories: May Arts Red/Yellow Ribbon, Black and White Satin Ribbon, SU Word Window Punch, dimensionals, Piercing Tool & SU Mat Pack, Red Embossing Powder
Technique: Heat Embossing, Ribbon Weaving, Piercing
Card Size: 5.25" Square

So, are you a race fan? Who are you rooting for tonight??

...you know who I'll be rooting for! GO KEVIN! {smile}

Raspberry Flowers

Here's a little 4.25" square card I made using my new Flowers of Happiness set from There She Goes.

The colors on my card are totally inspired by some projects on Jody Morrow's blog....she's awesome! If you haven't seen her projects, hop on over there and check them out. Have to give a shout out to my friend Silke, who is the one who gave me some of this Raspberry Fizz CS to try out. Thanks, Silke!!

I stamped the large flower from the Flowers of Happiness set four times in Memento ink, colored them, and then cut out different sizes so I could layer them on Dimensionals. The flower on the front of the card is three layers. The fourth flower is on the inside of the card and is also popped up on Dimensionals.

Inside of the card:

SUPPLY LIST
~
Stamps: TSG Flowers of Happiness
Paper: PTI Raspberry Fizz, PTI Select White, SU Basic Black
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, RV34 Dark Pink Copic
Accessories: Taylor's Tiny Twinkles, SU Scallop Edge Punch, Circle Nestabilities, Diamond Glaze (to glue down Twinkles), Dimensionals

New blog design

First, I want to thank all of you for the emails and get well wishes...and for the funny comments too. You all made me laugh and that's just what I needed. I'm doing MUCH better. The swelling is down, I'm not as sore, and the bruises are starting to heal. I even did a little stamping today!! Whoo-hoo!

My cool new blog design was done by the amazingly talented and super sweet Jami Bova!! She just got done creating and uploading everything for me....she even set up the three columns (because I was too chicken to do it). When I saw all the great banners she was creating out in blog land, I emailed her. I said I wanted a cool background to go with it, gave her some ideas as to the colors and the "fade" thing, told her I wanted something with a vine......then I threw some doozies on her by asking if there was any way to incorporate bees and peanuts into the design. I know!!....WEIRDO combination...but hey, peanutbee is my screen name. I also asked her if there was any way to get my daughter's peanutbee artwork into the banner.

Looks what SHE did! She's amazing!!

Thank you SO MUCH, Jami!! I can't thank you enough!

Here's a link to Jami's Studio page where you can find pricing, information on the process, and see pictures of other designs she has done. She was SO AWESOME to work with. She knows her stuff!!

That didn't go well...

So remember yesterday I said I was going tubing? Well, at about 4:00 on one of our last runs, I had an accident. We were "spun" a little too hard when we left the top of the hill, I fell out of the tube, my arm got caught in the rope that runs around it, and I was dragged down the hill behind the tube. Very scary ride! I'm OKAY...nothing is broken or anything. I'm just sore, bruised, and my face is cut and swollen. I look like I got in a bar fight....and lost! Not pretty at all.

So anyhoo, I'm going to take a little blogging break and won't be posting for a few days. Time to rest the old bod.....and no more tubing for me....ever!

Hugs,

Love those girls over on the Color Throwdown blog too...very talented girls! The main image with the black matting is up on Dimensionals. I used Diamond Glaze to glue down my Dew Drops and added some stickles to her hair bows and the yellow parts of the flowers she's holding. OCC Hearts & Announcement

Hi all! Today's OCC Challenge is themed "Crazy for Hearts!"...make a card with two or more hearts somewhere on your project.

Before I get into the details of my card, I have a little announcement today. Some of you already know about this, but today will be my last post as an OCC blog team member. I need to free up my schedule a little bit so when Jennifer emailed us to see who wanted to sign up for another round of hosting challenges, I decided that this would be a good time to step down from the team. I'm not going far though...I still plan to participate in the OCC challenges when I can. I'll just be playing along as a challenge participant rather than a blog team member. Hugs to the OCC girls. I *HEART* you!!....get it?, it goes with today's challenge. Hehe!

Now, onto my card... Silke was such a sweetie and gave me a bunch of the new Raspberry Fizz papers and ribbon to try out. Thanks, Silke!! I made the card for you, my friend. I hope you like it.

I stamped my new Leigh Hannan Garden Heart stamp from Stamper's Dream twice onto the PTI script DP, heat embossed it with black EP, colored the flowers and vines with my Copics, cut out the large heart and then cut out the inside heart, and popped them both up on Dimensionals. The bottom script panel and Labels One panel are also up on Dimensionals. There's a third heart on the inside of the card that was punched with my Creative Memories heart punch, which is also on Dimensionals. What can I say, I love puffy cards, LOL!
