A Man's View

Check out this new set from Flourishes! It's called A Man's View and it'll be in the Stamper's Dream store as of tonight at 10 p.m. CST!

As soon as I saw it, I wanted it because my DH, dad, father-in-law, brother....well, they all LOVE their "fat chairs"...hee! Remember on Friends and that episode when Chandler and Joey sat down and simultaneously timed reclining their feet and letting out a big "Ohhhhhhhh!" Cracked me up because I've seen both my dad and my husband do this, LOL! I made this card for my dad...now I just have to decide if I'm going to give it to him for father's day, for his birthday, or just send it to him as some surprise happy mail.

Here's a close-up of the metallic papers I used on my card. I won a pack of these gorgeous papers from Melanie Meunchinger. They're from the Paper Temptress...and they're awesome! The colors I used on the card are Lagoon and Bronze. Thank you Patricia and Melanie!!

Both Bronze metallic panels are up on foam tape. A second recliner was colored, cut out, and popped up on foam tape too. The layout is Taylor's TECC sketch from last Friday.

SUPPLY LIST ~
Stamps: Flourishes A Man's View
Paper: PTI White, Prism Simply Smooth White, SU Parisian Breeze DP, Paper Temptress Lagoon and Bronze Metallic Papers
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics: E35, E37

FIL's Father's Day Card

Hi everyone, here's a card I made for my father-in-law.

It's a 4.25” square card. I used one of the large buttons from my Father’s Day Key Ingredients as a mat to the #1 Dad sentiment. See the “threading” in the small button at the top?....that’s a tiny sliver of the DP. I’ve learned from visiting Jody’s (texasjodylynn) blog that buttons should ALWAYS be threaded with something….and she's absolutely right, buttons do look better when there’s something threaded through the holes.

Here’s a close-up. The sentiment inside the button is up on foam tape, so is the large Buttercream panel on the card base:

Here’s the inside:

SUPPLY LIST ~
Stamps: Taylored Expressions Boys Will Be Boys
Paper: Father’s Day Key Ingredients (Prism Blush Red Dark, Cosmo Cricked Lil’ Man DP, Choice Buttercream CS)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics: G99, YG95, 0
Accessories: Ribbon and Buttons from Father’s Day Key Ingredients, Circle Nestabilities, 1/16” Foam Tape

Have a good one!

Adrift

Hey all, I'm back with a second post for today. I wanted to play with the colors in today's Color Throwdown challenge, especially after seeing Danielle's cute card with the monkey floating in the tube. It reminded me of this cute Penny Black Adrift image I got from Michelle at Stamper's Dream.

The layout is today's SCS Sketch 228. Two images were stamped, the second was cut out and popped up on foam tape. The curved rectangle nestie is also up on foam tape. The lemons on the saffron panel are from my Margaritas clear set. They're heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Waterfall Stickles were added to the water and the ice cube in *Fat Cat's* (uh huh, that's his name) drink. Three more lemons were stamped and heat embossed on the inside of the card, down in the lower left-hand corner.

Here's a close-up:

She just posted a bunch of these for sale in different colors too so stop by her blog and check out yesterday's posts.

P.S. I was getting some spam (okay, a LOT of spam) over the weekend so I had to turn on comment moderation for a little while. If you don't see your comments right away, don't worry, they're there. It just might take a while for them to show up. Thanks!

Ribbon Roses

When my buddy Dawn came back from Regionals, one of the first things she told me about were these "ribbon roses" that she, Christine, and Laura saw demo'd while they were there. You're right, Dawn, super cool! Christine put together a GREAT tutorial on her blog on how to make these. Seriously, if I can do it, YOU can because I'm not very savvy when it comes to tricky things with ribbon. Oh, and here's a second tutorial.

The black butterfly, ribbon rose, and a second Sarah Kay image are up on dimensionals. The images are heat embossed with clear embosing powder, which is something I see Tosh and Michelle do a lot...and they're right, it does add a nice finished touch. It also helps keep the ink inside the lines when watercoloring. The layout is Jen's SFYTT Sketch from last Saturday. Here's a close-up:

Here's the inside of the card where I used more of the Madeline DP and a new set from JustRite:

SUPPLY LIST ~

Girl Time Gift Set

You all know how much I love my curved mega rectangle nestabilities and using them as card bases, right? Well, I found this tutorial from Nichole Heady on how to make a purse out of PTI's clear boxes...very cool tutorial...but guess what?? It happens to be the PERFECT size to hold my curved mega rectangle notecards! Whoo-hoo!

The set I used is JustRite's Girl Time Set from Stamper's Dream...an adorable set with all kinds of cute girly-girl images and sentiments....perfect for my cousin, Linda (the same one that I made last week's handbag and card insert for). She has three very close friends at work...they do everything together...work together, go shopping, vacation together, etc. Seriously, best buds! I figure she can keep these in her desk at work to write notes to her friends when they're going out for lunch, meeting for drinks after work, and stuff like that.

The purse on the outside of the card is heat embossed with white embossing powder. The pink oval is up on Dimensionals.

Here's a picture of everything together:

Here are pictures of each individual card. I made two of each of these. A total of eight cards fit inside the purse....and each card has a layer of dimensionals too (the vellum scalloped oval), so you can even "fatten" them up a bit and they'll still fit inside the purse. Some have ribbon, some don't.

SUPPLY LIST ~
Stamps: JustRite Girl Time Set
Paper: Prism Simply Smooth White, Prism Iced Pink, Bordering Blue, Vellum, Bella Birds DP
Ink: White Craft, Bordering Blue
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, White Grosgrain, Mini Flower Rhinestones, PTI Clear Box, Oval and Scallop Oval Nestabilities, Curved Mega Rectangle Nestabilities, Diamond Glaze (to glue down the flower rhinestones), Sticky Tape
Technique: Heat Embossing, Dry Embossing

This wraps up the JustRite Week at Stamper's Dream. Check out Carolyn, Charmaine, Cindy, Kimberly, Laurie, Michelle, and Tosha's blogs to see all the great JustRite projects they've posted this week.

Later all!

On the inside of the card, I stamped a butterfly from the Caring Criters set and then free-hand pierced a butterfly trail behind it:

I won't be seen 'til I get my caffeine

Hi all! It's JustRite Week at Stamper's Dream and today I'm showing you the new set called A Little Caffeine. This "I won't be seen 'til I get my caffeine" sentiment is so me, LOL!

I found the glass jars at Michael's for a dollar (back in the wood isle)! I think they're really cute...especially for a buck! I filled the jar with Dark Espresso Trail Mix that I found at Target....the mix includes dark chocolate covered coffee beans! Yum! The Prism Tawny Dark circle behind the caffeine sentiment is up on Dimensionals. The DP is Basic Grey Wisteria.

The card is a 5" square card. I stamped the coffee beans in the corner of the Neenah Natural White panel and then ran it through the Cuttlebug with my Paisley Impressabilities template. The sentiment circle is up on Dimensionals and I sponged Memento Cocoa ink around the edges. The largest Tawny Dark circle is also up on Dimensionals. The pearls were colored with an E25 Copic.

Here's a picture of the top of the jar and the inside of the card. The beans on the jar are also up on Dimensionals:

SUPPLY LIST ~
Stamps: JustRite A Little Caffeine Set
Paper: Prism Tawny Dark, Neenah Natural White, Wisteria DP

The Grill Master

Hey all, it’s release day at Taylored Expressions! Today I'm showing you something I made especially for my husband.

Whenever we go to NASCAR races at Dover, Dan and his buddy Bill are always talking about how they're going to start selling "Dan's Famous Sausage Sandwiches" at the races....LOL, they'd never actually do it but they like to talk it up. {smile} So, since I hear about "Dan's Famous" ALLLL the time, I thought I'd make him his own personal apron to wear at the races when he's doing the grilling. This was a lot of fun to make, and Dan got a kick out of it.

Here he is, sporting his new cooking apparel:

SUPPLY LIST ~
Stamps: Taylored Expressions Boys Will Be Boys, JustRite Brayton Font
Ink: Black StazOn, Black Sharpie (to fill in the lighter spots)
Accessories: $5 clearance apron at Michael's, JustRite Rectangular Wooden Stamper

…Check out these blogs for more projects: Taylor, Ana, Charmaine, Dawn, Donna, Jen, Jodi, Karen G, Karen M, Laura, Laurie, Sankari and Jami

That's it, folks! All the stuff you've seen over the past three days is now in the Taylored Expressions store, so head on over there and check it all out! Have a good one!
