TSG Welcome Home

Here's a card I made with one of the brand spankin' new sets from There She Goes. This one is called Welcome Home and it'll be available for purchase this Thursday, January 1st! Jessica has been showing a bunch of great sneak peeks on her blog over the past few days. Click HERE and check them out if you get a chance!

I knew I wanted to make a card with the topiary from the Welcome Home set and I wanted to use the vanilla ribbon and CS, but I hadn't decided what other colors to pair with it. I was chatting with my buds Janice and Lori last night and asked them to give me a color that they thought would go well with vanilla and an outdoor-style image. Janice picked artichoke and Lori picked Hunter....well, whadda ya know they're both in the Regals family so I said, "Why not put all three colors on the card." So anyway, that was a long way about telling you that my friends helped me plan out the colors for this card. {smile} Thanks Janice! Thanks Lori!

The layout is Amy Rysavy's Sketch #7. This one is from a while ago, but I just discovered all her sketches on her blog. I love your sketches, Amy!

Except for the Hunter panel, everything is up on Dimensionals.

Yesterday when I was checking out the weekly Mojo Sketch on Julee's blog, I saw she did the little sponging trick on the main image with the Spellbinders die still in place and I wanted to try it out. Awesome idea, Julee! Thanks for the inspiration!

SUPPLY LIST ~
Stamps: Welcome Home (There She Goes)
Paper: Very Vanilla, Handsome Hunter, Always Artichoke
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Always Artichoke
Copics: E33 Sand, E35 Chamois, E08 Brown, YR15 Pumpkin Yellow, Y38 Honey, G21 Lime Green, G94 Grayish Olive, BG96 Bush
Accessories: PTI Vintage Cream Ribbon, Green Swarovski Crystals, Dimensionals, Spellbinders Curved Mega Rectangle, Spellbinders Circle Nestabilities, Hat Pin and Beads from SU Pretties Kit
Technique: Sponging

Sarah Kay Sunday

Hey, I like how that sounds! ... Sarah Kay Sunday. Maybe I'll do that again next week. What do you think?

I'm supposed to be tackling laundry and putting all the Christmas gifts away...BUT these stamps were just calling my name! Well, when I finish writing this post, I WILL be getting right back to the housework. My house is so neglected and there are gift boxes EVERYwhere!

Anyway, the image on this first card is called First Kiss and it's part of the new Sarah Kay Collection II....it's one of my VERY favorites! It's stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Neenah 80 lb Solar White CS and colored with the Copics noted in the supply list below. The dark brown mat panel behind the main image is up on Dimensionals. The flowers are also up on Dimensionals. I stamped some hearts from the SU Short & Sweet set on the inside of the card (pictured below) in Regal Rose ink. I also added some Pink Stickles to the girl's hat (center seam and ribbon at the top) and to her hair bow. The layout is Jen del Muro's SFYTT sketch.

The First Kiss stamp, Urban Prairie DP, Suede Brown Dark Prism CS, Brown/Pink May Arts Ribbon, Pink Stickles, and Kaiser Pearls are ALL available at Stamper's Dream!...one stop shopping!

SUPPLY LIST ~
Stamps: Sarah Kay First Kiss, SU Short & Sweet
Paper: Neenah 80 lb Solar White, Prism Suede Brown Dark, Urban Prairie DP
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Cranberry Crisp

Accessories: Pink/Brown May Arts Ribbon, Kaiser Pearls, Pink Stickles, SU Pretties Kit Flowers (dyed with Cramberry Crisp ink), Dimensionals, Hemp Twine, Ticket Corner Punch
Card Size: 5.25" Square

My super talented and sweet friend Cindy (one happy stamper) stamped me some of these My Sweet Lili images and I couldn't wait to color her up. Thanks so much, Cindy!!

The image is stamped with Black StazOn ink on SU Watercolor paper and then watercolored with reinkers. I made a boo-boo on how I colored the bear's dress and bloomers (didn't like the colors I chose) so I colored those pieces again on a second image with some Copic markers, cut them out, and paper pieced them onto the watercolored panel...problem solved! Paper piecing is great for that! LOL!

The Celery mat behind the main image is up on Dimensionals. The urban prairie DP strip and main panels are faux stitched with my paper piercing tool, the SU mat pack, and a Chocolate Chip marker. The large flower is from the SU Pretties kit and I dyed it with Cranberry Crisp ink. The sentiment is sponged with Regal Rose ink and the flag end was done with a square punch on an angle. I added some white gel pen along the bottom of her dress and the buttons on her back. The layout is Taylor's TECC48 Sketch.

My Sweet Lili and the Urban Prarie DP are both available at Stamper's Dream.

SUPPLY LIST ~
Stamps: Sarah Kay My Sweet Lili, SU Warm Words
Paper: Certainly Celery, Urban Prarie DP, Making Memories Cosmopolitan DP (the solid brown)
Ink: Black StazOn, Cranberry Crisp, Soft Sky, Basic Brown, Blush Blossom, Really Rust, Marigold Morning, Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose
Copics: YG03 Yellow Green, E47 Dark Brown
Accessories: SU Pretties Flower (dyed with Cranberry Crisp), Green Button, Hemp Twine, Paper Piercing Tool and Mat Pack, Dimensionals, Square Punch, White Gel Pen
Technique: Watercoloring, Faux Stitching, Paper Piecing

Okay, now it's really time for me to get back to work. Enjoy what's left of the weekend! {smile}

OCC Clear Challenge

Today's OCC challenge is to make a card/project with something clear... clear buttons, acetate, clear embossing powder...something clear.

...I tried like you wouldn't believe to incorporate clear buttons on the card, then I tried clear acetate flowers that I punched, I tried a Heidi Swapp ghost flower.....they all gave me fits and nothing worked....so I gave up and just left the clear swarovski crystals and I used clear embossing powder on the sentiment.

I'm not super happy with how my card turned out, but I DO like the Cecily Cinnamonsticks image that my friend Dawn Easton (thanks, Dawn!!) was sweet enough to stamp for me! I think the image is adorable and it was really fun to color.

The pink circle and green scallop circles are up on separate layers of dimensionals. Angel Wings Shimmerz were added to her wings along with Diamond Stickles. Liquid Pearls were added to the neckline and wrists of her shirt as well as along the scalloped apron. The layout is Taylor's TECC47 Sketch.

RECIPE ~
Stamps: Stampingbella Cecily Cinnamonsticks
Paper: White, Pink Passion, Green Galore, Doodlebug DP (from Taylored Expressions Birthday Girls Key Ingredients)

Lilac Stems and Butterflies

My sweet friend Lori (LMcAree) sent me some lilac Flower Soft for Christmas and I wanted to try it out. Thanks, Lori! Fun stuff!!

The stamps are from my Butterfly Happiness set from There She Goes. I like how the stem silhouette matches up with the Creative Memories DP...that I've had in my stash forEVER!

The stem was stamped in Perfect Plum ink onto white CS, then I added the lilac Flower Soft to the buds. The butterflies were stamped in Perfect Plum ink onto white CS, punched out with a 1-1/4" circle punch, and matted against 1-3/8" Perfect Plum Circles. The butterflies were then stamped again in Perfect Plum onto Pale Plum CS, cut out, and popped up on Dimensionals over the ones stamped on the white circles. The Perfect Plum circles with the butterflies are also up on Dimensionals.

The punched circles on the inside of the card are glued down flat and the butterfly is up on Dimensionals.

The layout is from Jen Del Muro and you can see the sketch HERE. I love her awesome layouts!

I chose to CASE this card here. I love the layout, the fun dots in the DP, and the use of the SU hardware. I kept those things the same...I just made mine a square card, changed the stamps and colors, and added two rows of ribbon.

I used my Sarah Kay Margaux is Painting stamp that I just LOVE! I also paired it with this great Pop Fashion DP....I think the colors are so fun and yummy!! I matched it up to Prism Twilight Light and Prism Spring Willow Medium CS. The DP, Prism CS, and the Margaux stamp are all available at Stamper's Dream!

Oh, and I added December Sky Shimmerz all over Margaux's jeans....like a pair of jeans (or two, hehe!) my 4-year-old has.

OCC Gift Card Challenge

Yay!
It's the
weekend!
Time for
this
week's
OCC
Challenge
.

This week
Julee
challenged
us to
make
gift card
holders.
Friends of ours just had a baby boy, so this was the perfect challenge since I bought them a Babies R Us gift card.

I made mine following the pop-up gift card holder tutorial that was posted on SCS a couple weeks ago. OMG, these are soooooo easy to make...and fun! I'll definitely be using this again for a couple Christmas gift cards!

...and of course whenever I make anything baby-related, THIS Whipper Snapper Squeaky Clean stamp is THE first stamp I think of. It's my absolute favorite for baby cards (or gift card holders, hehe!). It's watercolored with reinkers and I added some December Sky Shimmerz paint to the water and bubbles. The Mellow Moss mat behind the main image is up on foam dots.

The inside left cover has a stamped sentiment and some baby pins in the lower corners. This is where I'll write our little congratulations note to them. For the back cover, I printed out all the birth info (name, date, time, weight, and then at the bottom it says "...and cute as a button") from the computer onto white CS.

RECIPE ~
Stamps: Whipper Snapper Squeaky Clean, SU Short & Sweet (sentiment and baby pins)
Paper: Textured Bashful Blue, Mellow Moss, Textured Barely Banana, White
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, blush Blossom, Marigold Morning, Bashful Blue, Soft Sky, Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette
Accessories: SU Moss Gingham Ribbon, Moss Button Brads (from Michael's), December Sky Shimmerz Paint, Pop Dots, Sticky Strip
Technique: Watercoloring, Pop-up Gift Card

Be sure to stop by the OCC blog to see the awesome gift cards the OCC girls have made for you. Our special guest this week is also Tori Wild and you won't want to miss what she made!!

Stamper's Dream Monthly Challenge

Hi everyone! It's time for another monthly Stamper's Dream challenge! This month Tosh is challenging us all to make gray cards with a touch of bling and a splash of color...and to use a stamp from Stamper's Dream of course. {smile}

You're all welcome to play along! Just post a link to your project on Michelle's blog. If you upload to SCS, use SDDC3 in the keywords. Be sure to check out Michelle's blog too....she'll have a GIVEAWAY for one lucky participant!

My card is pretty straightforward....two shades of gray CS, Swarovski crystals and sparkly threads in the ribbon for the bling, touches of color with the green Swarovski crystals and in the embossed music note with Aegean Silver EP . The JudiKins Music Background and Stampendous Christmas Note stamps are both from Stamper's Dream, as is the white Neenah CS.

The layout is one of Jen del Muro's SFYTT sketches! Each of the Nestabilities circles and scallop rectangle are up on separate layers of Dimensionals. I stamped two more music notes on the inside of the card, down in the bottom left and bottom right corners by coloring right onto the stamp with a Black SU marker and then stamping on the CS. Those music notes also have the Aegean Silver embossing just like the one on the front.

Be sure to check out the gorgeous cards from the rest of the Stamper's Dream DT: Charmaine, Cindy, Carolyn, Kim, Laurie, Michelle, and Tosh.

RECIPE ~
Stamps: JudiKins Music Background, Stampendous Christmas Note
Paper: Textured Going Gray, Textured Basic Gray, Neenah 80lb White, Basic Black
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, Versamark (marker)
Accessories: Green Swarovski Crystals, PTI Ribbon, Silver Cord, Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Scallop Rectangle Nestabilities, Dimensionals, JudiKins Aegean Silver EP
Technique: Heat Embossing, Direct-to-Rubber

Wintergreen Tree

Here's a
card I
made
using
Jessica's
Branching
Out
set
from
There
She
Goes
.

The
layout
is Julee
Tilman's
Mojo64
Sketch
.

The tree
and leaves
were stamped in Versamark onto Neenah White CS and then heat embossed with Malachite embossing powder. I added some Crystal Effects to the leaves and then sprinkled on some diamond dust glitter...chunky, shard-type clear glitter. Have you seen all the amazing snowflakes Anna Wight created with this stuff?? If you haven't, click HERE and check out her tutorial. I bought mine from ebay just like she suggested. After seeing all her awesome designs, I just had to have some! I also added some to the punched snowflakes.

Here's a close-up picture. It makes the card really shimmery, icy, and wintery looking!

The sentiment, which is also from the Branching Out set, was stamped in Black StazOn onto Vellum, I sponged Sage Shadow around the edges (just like I did on the main image and on the white DP panel), and cut the "flag" end with a square punch...another thing inspired by Anna Wight! I glued down just the left side behind the snowflake so the right "flag" end sorta lifts from the CS.

The inside just has the same white DP, matted with black, and then I did some piercing along the bottom with my Ornare piercing template.

RECIPE ~
Stamps: Branching Out (There She Goes)
Paper: Textured Sage Shadow, Basic Black, Neenah White (Stamper's Dream), Vellum, Wintergreen DP (retired Stampin' Up)
Ink: Black StazOn, Versamark, Sage Shadow
Accessories: Malachite Embossing Powder (Stamper's Dream), Striped Organdy Ribbon (Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts), Diamond Dust Glitter (ebay), Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch, Clear Dew Drops, Square Punch, Crystal Effects
Technique: Heat Embossing, Sponging
