Bus Driver Gift

Hi all! I hope all of you on the East coast made it through Irene okay. We made it through just fine. Only one tree fell in our back yard, but it didn't hit anything other than my wash line. That'll be easy enough to fix. We lost power at about 4 a.m. yesterday, had a generator to get us through the day, and by nighttime the power and internet were back on. Yay!!

I made this matchbook post-it note holder for Kara's bus driver. You can find the tutorial on Splitcoast under the Resources section. I followed the measurements for the 3"x3" post-its. Stamps are from There She Goes and I added some sparkly Stickles to different parts of the bus.

Today is Kara's first day of school....so on that note, I'd better go "crack the whip" (haha!) and get her out of bed, fed, dressed, pictures taken, and to the bus stop on time. Have a great day, all!

Pineapple Mango Jam

Hi stampers! Remember me?...lol! It's been a couple weeks since I've done any paper crafting or posted anything here to my blogaroo. I've been busy with work, getting stuff ready for Kara's first day of school, spending time with friends while there's still some summer left, reading, and keeping up with my running.

I posted on Facebook the other day that I was making some homemade pineapple/mango jam (a yummy recipe from the fabulous Cindy Lawrence) and decided I'd better make this into an official recipe card for my binder, as it's an awesome recipe! Wouldn't want to lose this one! :)

The main matted image is up on foam tape, all the edges are machine stitched, and I added a bunch of sparkle to Pineapple Girl (isn't she sweet?!...this is my first Mo Manning image...love it!) with my stardust Stickles (love that stuff, too!).

Alrighty, that's it from me today. I need to go for a run this a.m. before it gets too hot. Hope you have an awesome Saturday!

Peach Cobbler Recipe Card

Hi all and happy weekend! I've spent my entire morning in my jammies (being lazy) and making this recipe card....

I found the recipe on allrecipes.com and it's specifically for CANNED peaches. My grandmother cans her own peaches every year (so yummy!) and gives them out to all of us in the family, so I was excited to find this recipe. I've made it a few times this summer already and it's been a hit so far.....it's an easy-peasy recipe, too! Gotta love that!

The stamp I used is a Penny Black stamp called Sweet Dreams. The stamp itself says "strawberry jam", but I changed it to peaches by coloring the fruit in shades of peach and orange, stamping a second label (by coloring the outline of the label right on the rubber stamp with a black SU marker), cutting that out, and gluing it over the original image. Then I just hand wrote "canned peaches"....viola!...done! I faux stitched around the recipe and added some stardust Stickles to the "canned peaches" label.

I keep my recipe cards in a CR Gibson binder and they're covered with plastic sheet protectors so I don't get them messy when cooking (because I AM a messy cook...lol!).....like this....

I L-O-V-E my recipe binder!! Makes me happy! :)

Okay, now enough laziness for me today. I'm gonna get myself dressed and take the dog for a walk or something. Enjoy your weekend!

Margaux

Whooo-hoooo! Productive day today! I got up early and went for a run with my friend Dawn, showered and went around to pick up work for the week, got reports typed up, AND made a card! Love productive days like this.

A little about the card. It's 5" square and the main matted image is up on foam tape. Stickles were added to Margaux's pockets (you KNOW I love my sparkle), belt, hat, paints, easel clips, and the bear's bow. The mini rhinestones.....yeah, you know what's coming, right?.....I had to hide a smudge so one of the little clusters of rhinestones are doing just that...hiding the boo-boo! I seriously don't understand how smudges end up on my images. Anyway.....

Here's the inside where I used a sentiment to make it a birthday card...

...thought the Penny Black sentiment went perfectly with the Sarah Kay stamp.

Okay, that's it for me today. Have a great night!

Picnic of Daisies

Hi all! Can you believe it's August already??....I can't. I don't want summer to end. Wah! ;)

While watching TV last night, I colored up a couple of my beloved Sarah Kay stamps and made this one into a card. The punched sentiments and matted main image are all up on foam tape. I added a bunch of Stickles to the main image too....on her hair bows, hat band, picnic cloth, flowers, and then added a bunch of random dots around the image and some extra ones as butterfly trails. It's sparkly! :)

Okay, enough play time for me. I gotta get some work done.

Hope you have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. :)
