First Day of Preschool!

...here she is...the big "school girl!" :)

*Please* keep your fingers crossed. On Tuesday, we went in to meet with the teachers, go over ALL the stuff (oh my word, there's sooo much more for parents to do with preschoolers than there used to be...like when my oldest was in preschool) in the handbook, and give her a chance to see her classroom as well as meet a couple of her classmates. Well, it did NOT go well at all. She wouldn't play with anything, wouldn't talk to anyone, and wouldn't let them take her picture for her storytime mat. She had her face buried in my arm or back the whole time. So, needless to say, I'm so nervous now. Ohhhhhh, I hope she does okay! Oye!

Tomorrow is Taylor's Release Day. I'll have a card to show you, and I'll also have something for Saturday's OCC challenge using Taylor's stamps.

Be sure to check Taylor's blog later this morning though. She's announcing the rest of the Baker's Dozen and she'll share more info about her stamp sets!

Enjoy your day!

  2. I will definitely say a prayer for you, since I just went through the same thing just 2 weeks ago when my 3 year old started preschool! He only cried twice and whimpered once, then he was fine! They have to get into the swing of things just like us! Show confidence and a smile and she will do just fine, I am sure!

  11. Oh she is so cute! She'll get used to it. My guy started kindergarten on Tuesday, it was an orientation and I went with him, and after an hour picked up his backpack and said he was done and wanted to go home-wouldn't play with the toys or talk to anyone either. But yesterday, his first full day and first bus ride all by himself was another story-didn't even want me to come to the bus stop-said he was big enough, and was the first kid to run up the bus steps and get a seat! Now THAT broke my heart!! They grow up so fast!

  15. What a precious little angel Denise!! I'm sure she'll do fine. Especially once you're not in the room. My nephew did the same thing. As soon as his mom left, all was well with the world!! You'll do fine too...*grin* The first week is always the toughest.

  19. Denise, this child is totally adorable! Now listen, whenever you feel like you need a break, just call me and I'll zip right up to you and take this little angel off your hands. I have a pretty guest room that can easily be converted in a "girl's" room. Hee Hee Hee!!! Here's a little story: When Daniel started pre-school, he would be so brave and his little chin would quiver as we neared the classroom door. I'd kneel down and hug him and tell him how much fun he was going to have playing with his new friends and he'd say, "Mommie, I want to go home and have fun playing with you!" Well now, I had a huge lump in my throat as I walked back to the car trying not to burst into tears in front of everyone.
