When I saw this adorable little squirrel in Carolyn King's new Whimsical Autumn set, I HAD to have it. I purchased the set the morning right after the release party. Not only is the set ADORABLE, but 100% of the proceeds go to the Alzheimer's Association of Pennsylvania. Great cause! You can see the set HERE at the Gina K Designs site.
I followed Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #60. Thanks for the fun sketch, Beate! :)
My card also follows today's Limited Supplies Challenge....which was to make a card without any ribbon, brads, eyelets, bling, stickles, or primas. The only acceptable embellishment tools were paper piercing tools, punches, nesties, crimpers, markers/pens, and the cuttlebug.
My embellishments are the Ornare piercing template and piercing tool, scallop rectangle nestabilities, oval punch, and dimensionals. What's up on dimensionals?....the oval sentiment, the brown scallop rectangle, and a second squirrel that was cut out and layered over the one on the base rectangle.
The inside of the card has the same Ornare piercing along the bottom edge.

You know that song, Brown Eyed Girl?? "Do you remember when we used to sing sha la la la la la la la la la la te da!" LOVE that song! Kept hearing it the whole time I was making this card....only I kept hearing it the way my husband sings it....""YOUUUUUUU my, brown eyed squirrel." LOL! Yeah, he's a goofball, but that's why I love him.
...real quick before I sign off....did you see who the Featured Cupcake Sampler is on Taylor's blog today??? It's my friend Silke (sparklegirl)!! Whooo-hooo, BIG CONGRATS, girlie!!
Hope you all enjoy your Friday!

ReplyDeleteReally cute card, Denise!! I love that piercing. I have an elaborate template like that from Ellen Hutson's store and I haven't used it yet ... don't ask me why because it's just a little extra sumpin' sumpin' that makes a huge difference. You are definitely the master of subtle, but wonderful touches my friend.
ReplyDeleteBoy am I chatty today or what?? Have a great weekend.
