Sweet Peas



I've had this Sweet Peas set for quite a while now and FINALLY got to ink it up. The layout is Mercy Kerin's Sketch 36, I added pearls to the sentiment for the Timeless Tuesday Challenge, and the ribbon treatment on the oval sentiment (from the Signs of Spring set) was totally inspired by this card from Christine Okken. LOVE how she did the ribbon and just HAD to try it for myself! (You're such an inspiration, Christine!) The pearls were originally white and I colored them with my RV21 Copic.

Flourishes stamps, May Arts ribbon, curved rectangle nesties, Kaiser Craft pearls, and the Prism Vibrant Pink CS are all available at Stamper's Dream.

The Kraft mat behind the main image is up on foam tape. The sponging around the main image was done with Pretty in Pink ink.

Hope you're enjoying the weekend. I'm pretty much going to couch out today...earlier last week, my 4-year-old got a case of the sniffles and now I have it. Ugh! It's too early in the season for this!

    There, now. Wasn't that easy? I had my Sweet Peas set since they were first released and was too intimidated to use them until 2 weeks ago. Once I did, I realized they were a snap to water color. Your card is absolutely beautiful, though. Your sponging around the main image is so perfectly smooth that it looks airbrushed. I wonder what kind of sponge you use. Anyway, congratulations on another exquisite card.

    BEAUTIFUL Denise - I love this. I keep telling myself I must get this set and this is the one that has done it (I'm headed that way). This is so elegant and I just love the colors and the button is a great touch. Hope all is well.

    Gorgeous card! I love how you cut some of the flower petals out and adhered them to the corners. Great button/ribbon/string treatment. Love the ribbon wrapped behind the sentiment. I've never seen that before. Love the pink sponging by the flowers too! Great job as always!
