Color Throwdown #248

Hi there!  Today Broni is hosting our Color Throwdown challenge and she picked these awesome colors.....

...oh how I love Cool Caribbean. One of my all-time favorite SU colors!  I think these colors together are very beachy or very girly so I decided to get out one of my all-time favorite, beloved Sarah Kay stamps and get to some coloring.  Here's my card:

The card base and image were cut with curved rectangle nestabilities dies, the image and clouds are popped up on foam tape, the image was colored with Copics, and I added a bunch of sparkly accents with Stickles. Here's a close-up:

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I've decided to take a break from blogging for the summer (or possibly longer), so this will be my last post with the CTD team for now.  I have truly enjoyed being a part of this fun team with such a GREAT group of gals!

Speaking of the great gals, check out the gorgeous creations they have to share with you today:

Barbara   **   Broni   **   Joan
Lori   **   Lynn
Tammy   **   Wanda
and our June Guest Designer, Wanda Guess!

Have a great Wednesday and a WONDERFUL summer!!

Kiss for Chloe

Hey there! Hailey's boyfriend asked me to make a valentine's card for her using this Sarah Kay "Kiss for Chloe" image, this custom sentiment, and he wanted it done in shades of purple. Ohhhh, this card was so much fun to make!

The layout is Sweet Sunday Sketch #151. I made the sentiment on the computer with the "Pristina" font. The die-cut sentiment flag is up on foam tape. Papers are My Mind's Eye Market Street.

He also asked me to incorporate a rose on the inside of the card so I pulled out my "Sweet Nature" set from Flourishes and colored up the long-stemmed rose....

I really hope she liked this card as much as I enjoyed making it. Have a great day, all!

Stamper's Dream Closing

Hi all! Earlier this month, I received a bittersweet email from my friend (and all-time favorite stampy boss...yep!) Michelle Rodgers letting me know that she has decided to close the Stamper's Dream store and asking me if I'd like to join the Dream Team once again for a final blog hop. I certainly understand her decision in wanting to spend more time focusing on family, friends and home life, as I recently gave up all my DT work....but it's still sad to hear that one of my favorite online stores is closing. :(

She's having a liquidation sale and everything in the store is 20% off with the coupon code Farewell2U. Just enter the code on the checkout page in the coupon section and it will take 20% off the lowest marked price of the items in your shopping cart! There is a $20 minimum to activate the coupon. Note: there is no free shipping during the liquidation.

If you'd like to start at the beginning of today's hop, Michelle's blog is the first stop. If you've come here from Tosh's blog, you're right on track.

For my card, I used this Sarah Kay Finn Whistling While He Works stamp. Someone in our family is celebrating a birthday this month and I thought this image would be perfect for his birthday card.

For today's farewell hop, here's the complete lineup....

Michelle Rodgers
Becca Feeken
Tosha Leyendekker
Denise Marzec *that's me*
Laurie Schmidlin
Carolyn King
Amy Sheffer
Arlene Cuevas
Teresa Kline

Have fun hopping and be sure to leave some love and hugs to Michelle. :)

Happy Anniversary

My aunt and uncle's anniversary (50th!) is coming up and when I saw THIS gorgeous card by Wendy, I knew I wanted to use this Sarah Kay First Kiss image on their card. Confession....I love Wendy's coloring so much that I tried to color my image like hers (she's a huge inspiration to me!)....and I literally sat with my Copics in front of my computer monitor and copied the shading as best as I could. :)

The anniversary sentiment is from my So-Frogetful set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. The main matted image is up on foam tape and I added Stickles to the girl's hair bow. The layout is the October SFYTT.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Saturday!

Margaux

Whooo-hoooo! Productive day today! I got up early and went for a run with my friend Dawn, showered and went around to pick up work for the week, got reports typed up, AND made a card! Love productive days like this.

A little about the card. It's 5" square and the main matted image is up on foam tape. Stickles were added to Margaux's pockets (you KNOW I love my sparkle), belt, hat, paints, easel clips, and the bear's bow. The mini rhinestones.....yeah, you know what's coming, right?.....I had to hide a smudge so one of the little clusters of rhinestones are doing just that...hiding the boo-boo! I seriously don't understand how smudges end up on my images. Anyway.....

Here's the inside where I used a sentiment to make it a birthday card...

...thought the Penny Black sentiment went perfectly with the Sarah Kay stamp.

Okay, that's it for me today. Have a great night!

STAMPS: Stampavie/Sarah Kay Margaux is Painting, Penny Black Paint the Town (sentiment on inside of card)
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black and Copic Markers

Picnic of Daisies

Hi all! Can you believe it's August already??....I can't. I don't want summer to end. Wah! ;)

While watching TV last night, I colored up a couple of my beloved Sarah Kay stamps and made this one into a card. The punched sentiments and matted main image are all up on foam tape. I added a bunch of Stickles to the main image too....on her hair bows, hat band, picnic cloth, flowers, and then added a bunch of random dots around the image and some extra ones as butterfly trails. It's sparkly! :)

Okay, enough play time for me. I gotta get some work done.

Hope you have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. :)

STAMPS: Stampavie/Sarah Kay Picnic of Daisies

Watermelon Patch

Hey there! I can't believe it's Monday already. I wanted to play with Karen G's Sweet Sunday Sketch and found this totally FORGOTTEN Josephine stamp that has never seen ink....why?...I have no idea why I've never inked it because I love it! I think I got it from Michelle at Stamper's Dream....umm....last summer?? Yeah, something like that. Anyway, since it's a forgotten stamp, I'm going to also enter the card into Jessie's Forgotten Stamp Friday Challenge. Very cool idea for a challenge, I might add, Jessie. :)

The main matted image is up on foam tape and I added some Stickles to the watermelon slice, hat band, and knife.

Have an awesome afternoon!

Adele & a farewell

Hi everyone! After two years of being on the Stamper's Dream team, I've decided to step down. It's been awesome to be a part of such a talented team, but it's time for a change. Thank you, Michelle, for everything!!

For my last DT card, I wanted to use a Sarah Kay stamp. This Adele Enjoying Fresh Apples is such a great stamp for this time of year. The main image is up on foam tape and there's a pearl in the center of her hair bow. I also added Stickles to the flowers in the grass, the hair bow, and band around the hat. Oh, and I drew in some extra blades of grass with one of my Copics.

Have a fantastic Sunday!

Hailey's Bday Card

This is the birthday card I made for my daughter, Hailey, this year. I gave it to her already so I can post it now. I bought this Sarah Kay stamp years ago from Stamper's Dream because it reminds me so much of her.....artistic, beautiful, and sweet. Yep, that's my girl. {{big proud mama grin}}

It's a long card because it was holding a gift certificate to her favorite hair salon. I went with brown and green to match the colors on the gift certificate. It measures 4" x 8.5" and fits in a regular #10 envelope. The image is stamped on Cryogen Poison Ivory CS, colored with Copics, and I added some Stickles to her belt and white dots on her cheek. The main image and sentiment are both up on foam tape.

Have a great day!

Adele

Hi all, I'm a bit behind but wanted to play with Taylor's TESC125 Sketch from last week. I love the circle elements.....FUN!

Our youngest will be starting kindergarten this week, so I made this for her teacher. The main image with Adele is up on foam tape. Stampavie stamps are available at Stamper's Dream.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend! I know I am......it's the first time in years that I'm enjoying a true, work-free weekend. Now that Kara will be in all-day kindergarten, I'm going back to working Mon-Fri and leaving my weekends free....ahhhh, that just sounds so normal to have the weekends off! Yesterday we all went hiking, geocaching (Kara calls it "treasure hunting"), and had a picnic lunch out on some big rocks. Fun!

I'll be back tomorrow to show you a bookmark I made for her teacher....it's sorta matchy-matchy to this card.

For my card, I used this sweet Jean-Luc Playing Ball with Claude stamp that I got from Stamper's Dream. The Vintage Cream oval is up on foam tape and I did the ribbon pleating with Scor-Pal tape. The sentiment is from my Flourishes Violets set. It's a clear-set so I was able to "curve" the sentiment around the oval. The DP is Report Card by October Afternoon.

Have a great day!
