Mojo Madness Sketch 45

Good morning, all!

It's the first Monday of the month and Julee Tillman is running another Mojo Madness Contest! Be sure to stop by her blog and check out the details...she's giving away a couple stamp sets to two lucky winners.

When I was out shopping with LeAnne, Jen, and Wendy (hi girls!) we all picked up a sheet of this SEI butterfly paper. It's been sitting here patiently waiting to be made into some cards, and I finally got a chance to do it. The textured cocoa print is SEI's Chocolat 8-1933. The butterfly paper is SEI's Papillon 8-1912.

I stamped the butterflies from the Fluttering By set onto the white rectangle panel. Then I stamped them again on a separate sheet, cut them out, and popped them up on dimensionals over the ones on the base layer. The Close to Cocoa mat behind that main panel is also up on dimensionals.

The inside of the card includes a white panel with a 1/2" x 5.25" strip of the Papillon DP along the bottom and then I did some piercing along the bottom edge.

Yellow Siberian Iris

Today's Featured Stamper on SCS is Teneale. She has a really great gallery with a lot of pretty floral cards.

Here's HER CARD that I chose to CASE.

I kept the same layout, floral theme, cut-out oval panel, and ribbon placement.

I used different stamps, added background stamping to the Summer Sunrise panel, added a black mat panel, and added half-backed pearls.

The iris was colored with Wild Wasabi and Marigold Morning reinkers. The background stamping was done with Versamark. All stamps on the card are from the Siberian Iris set from Flourishes.

The inside of the card includes a Summer Sunrise panel with one of the flourishes stamped along the bottom edge in Versamark.

Our Creative Corner Challenge - a Sketch!

Hi everyone! It's time for another Our Creative Corner Challenge!

The Challenges this month are going to be hosted by Jennifer Meyer and she has some awesome things lined up for all of us!

For the first challenge this month, we have a SKETCH! There's a $20 gift certificate being awarded by Tamara McKlveen from Mothers & Daughters Creations for one lucky winner! For my card I used a bunch of NEW things that I just received. My great friend, Silke, sent me a the Plum Pudding CS and yummy ribbon. Thanks, girlie!! I hope you like it because I made it for you. {hugs!} The main image is from one of my new Flourishes sets...oh my word, go Flourishes!! Your images are gorgeous!!

The image was stamped on watercolor paper, watercolored with inkpads (by smashing the ink in the lid), I cut most of the image with the paper cutter just up to the edges of the flowers, and then hand cut around the flowers with scissors to get the out-of-the-box technique. A tiny bit of purple stickles were added to the center of the flower.

The black mat behind the flower is up on dimensionals. The inside of the card has one of the small flourish images from the Siberian Iris set stamped in the lower corner.

Happy 4th of July

Happy Fourth of July, everyone!

Today's Limited Supplies Challenge centers around the number four. We were to make a card using:

- Four colors but mostly RED, WHITE and BLUE

- Only 4 embellishments or specialty tools

- Only 4 layers (Yikes!!)

My card is red, white, blue, and black. My four embellishments are gingham ribbon, plain circle nestie, scallop circle nestie, and dimensionals (behind both the white circle as well as the blue scalllop circle). The blue star in the lower left corner was stamped and then hand-cut...so that doesn't count as an embellishment. I stamped some blue stars on the inside of the card, down in the lower left corner.

The mouse image is from a Christmas set, but with the stars I thought it could also be used as a birthday image...especially made for a friend of mine who also shares a July birthday. Speaking of that??...are any of you celebrating a birthday this month??

Hey all, I'm hoping to make a card later today, but I first want to share some more great birthday RAK's and surprises I received.

My great friend Silke sent me this awesome package. She's so sweet, everything was wrapped and decorated in purple...so pretty!

Starry Challenge, Flourishes, and RAK's

Hi everyone! First, I want to give a shout out to my friend Janice (catcrazy) and say HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Hope you had an awesome day yesterday!! :)

Second, I want to thank Beth Silaika for making my new watermark as well as Dawn Easton for the technical help!! Thanks girls!!

Here's a card for today's sketch challenge on SCS. I combined it with the CCEE challenge this week, which was to make a mostly black and brown card. I like the combo...really cool!

I used my brand new Spring Ephemerals set from Flourishes that I just received. Love these forget me nots.

My mom came over this past weekend, looked at my SCS gallery for the first time, and was so supportive and encouraging. I just wanted to tell her I love her so I made this card for her. Hope she likes it.

I added a Very Vanilla panel to the inside of the card and stamped the forget me nots in the lower left corner in Close to Cocoa. The sentiment panel is up on dimensionals.

They're running a "Starry Challenge" to kick off their new forum so I made this card using two of their star sets. What great sets! Wanna know my favorite stamp from the sets?...that itty bitty star and swirl in the corners of the cardfront. Oh so CUTE!

I followed Jen Del Muro's sketch for you to try...great sketch!

The black mat panel behind the sentiment is up on dimensionals. The inside of the card includes a black mat panel with a cryogen shimmer white panel layered over top, then I stamped the small swirl/star images, one in the lower left corner and one in the lower right.

Purely Wild Celery

...that's today's color challenge on SCS...to use Purely Pomegranate, Certainly Celery, and Wild Wasabi with black as an optional color. I pulled out my old but faithful Natural Beauty set and got busy with Emily's challenge. :)

Sorry for the late post today, but I'm dealing with a sick toddler. :(

I combined the colors with Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch #44....except I forgot the photo corner punches. Oops!!

The black circle behind the sentiment is up on dimensionals. The sentiment was punched with the word window punch, and then I hand cut the flag end with scissors. The images are watercolored with reinkers and inkpads (by smashing the ink in the lid). The halo effect around the main image was done with a Copic marker.

The inside of the card includes a white panel with the same large flower stamped on the left side in Certainly Celery.

Next is a thank you card from Marisa (the black butterfly card). She's the winner of the recent blog candy...and check it out, she's using the butterfly punch that she won. Such an elegant card. Thanks, Marisa! Glad you're enjoying it. I also received the cute Precious Moments card from Lori/LMcAree wishing me and DH a happy 10-year anniversary. Family Album

Yesterday's Featured Stamper on SCS was Michelle (Chelemom). Check out her awesome gallery if you haven't already done so. Man, can the girl color or what?!?! Awesome cards!

I chose THIS gorgeous card of hers to CASE.

I bought the Seaside and Story of Me sets from Crafty Secrets a while back, but this is the first time I got to ink up the Story of Me set. What took me so long?...I have no idea!

My card measures 4.25" x 4.25" square. The scallop Chocolate Chip circle is up on a layer of dimensionals, with the white image circle on a second layer over that. The white sentiment oval is up on a layer of dimensionals, with the Chocolate Chip oval behind it up on a second layer too. The image was watercolored with inkpads (by smashing the ink in the lid).

The inside of the card includes a strip of the DP over white CS, then matted with a Chocolate Chip panel again. My good friend, Janice (catcrazy), got me this cute DP. It's a whole pack of 6x6 double-sided DP. So nice of you, Janice, thanks!!

Our Creative Corner Challenge - Basic Grey!

For my card, I used Basic Grey Blush (BLU-653 Admire). I thought the floral print went so well with the Annie LaPoint Take a Break image from MFT...I think I'm obsessed with this stamp, it's gorgeous and it stamps soooo nice. The image was stamped four times. The base layer was colored with Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi reinkers as well as a Pale Blue Gray Copic marker. I colored one set of flowers in Regal Rose and the other set with a Flesh Pink Copic marker...which actually looks more peach than pink. The tub, Regal Rose flowers, and Flesh Pink flowers were all cut out and popped up on dimensionals.

The inside of the card includes a black mat layer, with a white panel over top of that, and then a strip of the Blush/Admire paper along the left edge. I used my corner rounder for the scalloped edge.

Brads & Butterflies...and happy 10-year anniversary!

Hi everyone, and TGIF!! First, I want to wish my awesome husband a very happy 10-year anniversary. Love ya, babe! I made him a very special card using his favorite image...but I can't share it with you yet because it's in the Fan Club Gallery awaiting the reveal on the 15th. I'll be able to share it with you here on my blog in a few months from now. I gave it to him this a.m., and he really liked it...whew!

Today's Limited Supplies Challenge is to use brads on a card as the only embellishment....no ribbon, stickles, other hardware, etc....oh, and you had to incorporate the brads into the stamped image somehow. I used mine as the trails for the butterflies. Sharon Johnson is also running a 10-minute card challenge, so I kept my card really simple today.....Just the black Verve butterflies (that are oh so adorable!), silver brads, and shades of black/white/gray. The inside has one little butterfly down in the lower left corner on a piece of white CS that is matted with a black panel.

Annie LaPoint

Here's a card for today's Sketch Challenge #SC182...using one of the new MFT Annie LaPoint stamps.

I stamped the white inchies (the white 1" x 1" squares that are in the "brady bunch formation"..tehe!) using the top part of the tub image in Lavender Lace. The overall card measures 4" x 4" square.

The main image was stamped twice in Versafine Black Onyx, colored with reinkers and Copic markers, and then the tub and flowers were cut out and popped up on dimensionals over the base layer.

The inside of the card includes a white panel with stamping along the bottom edge...using just the top part of the image. Click on the picture below and it'll give you a zoomed in close-up....actually, you can click on any of my pictures to get a close-up...but you probably already knew that. Okay, enough rambling...

Lavender Mojo

Here's a card for Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch #43 and the Technique Challenge on SCS, which is to color with reinkers.

I love these new Annie LaPoint stamps from MFT. I think they're really pretty! First time inking this one up too.

The main image was cut out with the Coluzzle up to where the image met the edge, then I cut around the part of the lavender stems that were outside the oval. The main panel is popped on a layer of dimensionals, the Amethyst scallop oval is on a second layer, as is the punched sentiment.

Using my Stampin' Spots, I stamped just the top of the lavender image to get the flowers along the bottom of the card front as well as the inside panel. They're stamped in Mellow Moss and Amethyst.

Have to give a shout out to Silke for sending me the Oval Nesties! Thanks, girl! {smile}
