Recipe Cards

*I added an additional photo at the bottom of this post*

Okay, so here's something I haven't done before....4 x 6 recipe cards! Over the summer I got into watching Rachel Ray....man, that girl is awesome! She makes everything looks SOOO easy, and hey, her recipes are YUMMY! Have to say...I like to cook a whole lot more than I used to ever since I started watching her show. Anyway, I thought I'd make some paper-crafted cards for my recipe organizer.

On this first card, I used my JustRite Recipe Borders & Centers for the fruits and veggies sentiment, and my JustRite Autumn Blessings set for the apple basket. I added some mini flower rhinestones to the fruits & veggies sentiment with a small dot of Diamond Glaze.

Here's the other recipe card for some yummy veggie dumpling soup. Again, I used my JustRite Recipe Borders & Centers set. This card is two-sided so there's also a picture of the back of the card.

Notice the calories on the cards?....I calculated those. That's one thing I wish they'd provide on the RR web site....but they don't. Just in case you'd like to see the actual recipes from RR, here are the links:

Connie made a good point about not wanting to get anything on the cards while cooking. Guess what, Connie?...I'm a MESSY cook, too! I use a recipe organizer to store my recipes.

It's a two-ring binder with clear plastic card protectors where I can fit two cards per sheet. If I get anything on them while cooking, I can just wipe them off. They're clear on the back side as well, so if I have a two-sided recipe card I can just flip the clear sheet and see the back.

LOL, you can see in the photo my old way of storing recipes, which was to copy photos and tape a recipe to a 4x6 index card. I'm thinking the paper-crafted and stamped version looks TONS better.

Have a GREAT day!

Good morning Denise...I too am a huge RR fan, have been since her start on FN. I have (almost) all of her cookbooks, and used to hate to cook until I watched her show, so I totally know what you mean!

These recipe cards ROCK! Over the last coupla years, I've been working on a 8 1/2 x 11 recipe book for my daughter, but I might have to try these out, they're darling and I'm liking the smaller-scale. That basket of apples is just adorable...you did an awesome job on these Denise!

Happy Sunday : )

What a fun and useful concept making your own recipe cards! It sure beats the 3 spiral dog-eared notebooks I have for years of hand-written recipes:) Awesome!

Really clever idea, Denise, and the coloring on your apple basket is wonderful. I have a niece getting married next year, this would be a fun idea for a gift. I even have her grandmother's recipe box that I could put put a bunch of these in...thanks for the inspiration!!

These are simply wonderful! I have long collected recipe stamps thinking I would make a collection of 4 x 6 cards...maybe even get some friends in on a monthly swap? As you know, it hasn't happened! LOL! You're a girl after my own heart. I just love 'em!
