Ocean Paradise

I made this card for Sweet Stop Sketch #160 and used my Ocean Paradise set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps...

Both clouds (MFT die-namics) are up on foam tape and so is the main image.  Stickles were added to the image for some sparkle (eucalyptus on the grass, platinum on the sand, and stardust in the water).  Papers are Paradise Beach by Echo Park that I bought from i{heart}papers.  The ric-rac was cut with an MFT die-namics die and the flag die is from Lil' Inker Designs.

Have a good one!

Woo-HOOO!

Thought I'd play with my Chubby Chums set again for Deconstructed Sketch #53.

Love this sketch, love this stamp set, and I love these Summer Fresh papers....especially that denim floral pattern. I'll be keeping EVERY single scrap of it so I can use it as much as I can....it's definitely my fav in the paper pad.  :)

The owl was colored with Copics (E00, E13, E41, E42, E43, W1, 0, YR21, YR68), cut out with scissors and popped up on foam tape.  I cut out all the ribbons with my MFT First Place Award Die-namics (the smaller one) and layered them all up (totally inspired by this Summer Fresh paper pad).  The one with the Woo-hooo sentiment is also up on foam tape. The scallops at the bottom of the floral DP were cut with my small scallop border Die-namics from MFT.  The large kraft panel on the card base was embossed with a Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Hope you all have a really great day!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  :)

You are my sunshine..."Queen Dawn"

So my good friend Dawn (TreasureOiler) was picked as the "Queen for the Day" over on SCS.  I've never played in this challenge before, but of course since Dawn is the queen, I'm playing!  :)  I CASE'd her sunshine card that you can see HERE and I'm going to send this to her.

The two smaller clouds are up on foam tape, the sentiment is from MFT Stamps ("Can ya Dig It"), the grass was cut out with felt (that Queen Dawn sent me), clouds were cut with MFT Die-namics, blue patterned paper is Fine and Dandy Girl by MME, and the sun was cut out from my Simple Stories Summer Fresh paper pad.

HUUUUUUUUUUGE Congrats to you, Queen Dawn!!  Love ya, girlie!

Have a great day, everyone.

Bright sunshiny day

Wow....check me out....a whole 7 days of posts....in a ROW!!  Posting often like I USED to do when I first started this blog.  :)  Feels good to be crafting a lot again.

I made this card for the May SFYTT as well as this week's Play Date Cafe color challenge.  Two butterflies were cut with my Verve Flutterby die and popped up on foam tape.  There's no stamping on this card (gasp!...right?)....just a mix of the Flutterby die with Summer Fresh (Simple Stories) and Glory (Authentique) patterned papers.  The sentiment is part of the Summer Fresh 6x6 paper pad, and that panel is also up on foam tape.

Here are pics of the PDC color challenge and the May SFYTT.  Have a reeeeeeally great day!

Freshly Made Sketch 36

Hi all!  I made this card for Freshly Made Sketch #36 using my brand new Summer Fresh papers by Simple Stories that I just bought from i {heart} papers. They arrived in the mail yesterday....and oh my word, love 'em!

The large zig-zag pattern is printed that way in the paper pad so all I did was cut it out (I didn't piece all those rectangles together). Six butterflies were die cut with Verve's Flutterby die and stacked in pairs with foam tape so there's lots of dimension. The "Hello" sentiment is from my MFT Essential Sentiments set. The flag die is from Lil' Inker Designs and twine is from The Twinery.

Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome day!

sMOOches

LOL!....love this "sMOOches" sentiment from my brand new Chubby Chums set. It just arrived in the mail on Saturday and I couldn't wait to make a card with one of the cute animals in the set.

The layout is Sweet Sunday Sketch #159, papers are Farm Fresh by October Afternoon, the cow is colored with Copics (R000, R00, R20, BG0000, BG10, BG11, BG13, W1, W3, G21, G24, G40, 0), and Stickles were added to the blue dots around the cow.

Sunnin' Mouse

I've had a lot of extra time to craft lately (my transcription hours have been cut and I'm VERY part-time now....which is totally okay....I think I was burned out from it anyway) and it's been really fun to participate in so many sketch challenges again.  This one is for Sweet Stop Sketch #159 ("Sketch with a Spin") and I added ruffled ribbon for the "spin."

The "Sunnin' Mouse" stamp is by Whipper Snapper Designs and the sentiment is from my MFT "Beach Bum" set. The main image circle is up on foam tape. I paper pierced the scallops with an Ornare piercing template (they stopped selling this one, but I think they should bring it back...I love it!) and then traced in some lines with an orange SU marker. Stickles were added to the sand, sunglasses, and floral shorts.

I want to BE this mouse right now....on the beach...sunning....ahhhhh! :)

Copics: 0, E41, E42, E43, W1, Y32, YR15, YR21, YR24, YG11, YG13, YG17, R00, R02, R81, R83, R85

Hope you have a great Monday!

Freshy Made Sketch 35

I made this card for the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge using PTI's Butterfly Dreams (stamp set and die).

Two butterflies were die cut and popped up on foam tape.  Papers are Howdy Doody by My Mind's Eye.

That's it for me....short and sweet today.  :)

Tweetie Pie

Hi all and helloooooo weekend! We just got back from Kara's soccer game and it is SUCH a gorgeous day out there. I love it!  We're having one of Kara's friends over for a play date today and I think we'll all be outside enjoying the sun.

I was up early this morning so I made this card before we left for the game.  The stamped image is called Tweetie Pie by Whipper Snapper Designs, the sentiment is from My Cute Stamps, papers are Ooh La La by My Mind's Eye, and the layout is Deconstructed Sketch #52.  The punched sentiment and the kraft diamond-shaped panel are both up on foam tape.  Stickles were added on the dots around the image and to the pie.

Have a REALLY awesome day and I hope you get to enjoy the sunshine, too.  :)

You're a Hoot

I just ordered some Paper Smooches stamps for the first time (what has taken me so long??) and I can't wait to get them.  While waiting, I thought I'd print off a couple of their free digi images (yep, FREE!) and play along in this week's Sparks Challenge.  Here's what I came up with...

The sketch looked really cool and simple.....but oh my word, did I EVER make it COMPLICATED by trying to do these panels of DP.....seriously, it's embarrassing how long it took me to make this card because I kept messing up the panels....lol!  The owl and die-cut sentiment are up on foam tape and I linked them together with some twine.  Papers are Quite Contrary Jack and Jill by My Mind's Eye; they're all glued down together onto a panel of CS and then that panel was glued to the card base with foam tape.  Copics used:  E41, E42, E43, YR15, YR21, BG11, BG93, BG96.

Have a really great day!

Ants in a Picnic Basket

I LOVED yesterday's Mojo Monday sketch and just HAD to play. I used this Whipper Snapper Designs (Ants in a Picnic Basket) image that I colored over the weekend.

Papers are Quite Contrary Jack and Jill by My Mind's Eye. The sentiment is from my MFT Essential Sentiments set and the ribbon die is also from MFT. The sentiment ribbon is popped up on foam tape. Stickles were added to the tablecloth, hearts, and random dots around the image for some sparkle.

Copics used: E41, E42, E43, W1, W3, W5, R20, R22, R24, YG11, YG13, YG15

Thanks so much for looking and have a great day!

Dry Debossing Challenge

Hi all!  My awesome friend Dawn Easton (TreasureOiler) is hosting this week's Technique Challenge on SCS and she chose dry debossing as the challenge.  HERE'S the link to the challenge. Head on over and check it out if you get a chance...it's an oldie but goodie.

She asked me to be a sample maker and I happily said I'd love to join in. :) I embossed the largest panel with my swiss dots embossing folder, sponged Certainly Celery ink around the edges, added some machine stitching, and glued down the whole panel on the card base with foam tape.  The floral panel is the "debossed" panel for the challenge.  I embossed it with a floral embossing folder from SU, inked up the reverse side with my Certainly Celery ink pad (rubbed the ink pad directly onto the paper), and added some more machine stitching.  Then I just added a couple elements like the ribbon dies, rhinestone, "hello" sentiment, and punched butterfly.

What are you up to today?  If the rain holds out, I'll be headed to Kara's "field day" at school to see her participate in a bunch of different physical activity stations.

Have a good one!

...and ANOTHER Turtle :)

Back to Kona again...this time in pink and green (our team colors....oops, I promised no more mud talk) and I used Sweet Sunday Sketch #158.

The circles were cut with Spellbinders dies.  They're up on foam tape, as is the punched (green) Aloha sentiment. Stickles were added to the water drops around Kona. Papers are Fine and Dandy Girl by My Mind's Eye and Kona was colored with Copic markers.

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit and happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there.  :)

Another turtle...

Here's another turtle card. This time I used a Great Impressions stamp (no name, just #E526 if you're looking for it) and Deconstructed Sketch #51 that was posted yesterday.

Papers are Fine and Dandy Girl by My Mind's Eye.  Stickles were added to the flowers around the turtle.  The main image and punched sentiment (from MFT Stamps) are up on foam tape.  The flag tab and ric-rac were made with MFT dies, the large oval was cut with a Spellbinders die, and the small oval sentiment was punched with a SU punch.  Twine is from The Twinery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  :)

Cowabunga Dude!

Yesterday I colored up three turtle images (in the spirit of my mud team, the "Fast and Dirty Turtles".....but I promise no more mud talk....back to cards) and made the first one into a card using Deconstructed Sketch #50 and my all-time favorite OCL set, "Kona."

Kona is colored with Copics, I cut him out with scissors and popped him and the flag sentiments up on foam tape.  Papers are On the Bright Side-One by My Mind's Eye. Stickles were added to Kona's flip flops, sunglasses, and the flowers on his shorts.

I'll be back soon with another turtle card...or two.  :)

Have a great day, all!

Happy Cluckin' Birthday

Yes....I, of course, had to make a CARD with chickens...lol!

The chicken stamp is by Penny Black and the curved sentiment is from Anna Wight's Crazy for Chickens set.  The main panel with the chickens is up on foam tape.  Papers are Farm Fresh by October Afternoon and I added Stickles to the balloon, straw, and flowers. Here's a close-up of the curved sentiment...

In my last post, I mentioned that I'm doing a mud run this coming Saturday and that Hailey and I had made the shirts for everyone on our team.  Andrea said she'd like to see a pic....so here they are....

All I did was iron the shirts and iron on the turtle appliques.  Hailey did the lettering on all 9 t-shirts.  "Fast and Dirty Turtles"...lol!...that's us!  :)

Have a great day all! I'm off to go walking with my friend Dawn and then I gotta hit Walmart and Lowe's.  Go go go.....
