Ruffles

Good morning! Well, I did it! I ran that 5K and finished....yay! My time was 38:15 (VERRRY slow, just like I thought it'd be....and probably considered pretty pitiful to a "real" runner), but I did run most of the way. I only walked a total of four minutes of that. Anyway, maybe I'll try it again next month and see if I can run the whole way. Thanks to everyone who left comments to cheer me on...it means A LOT to me!

I made this card for today's Ruffles challenge on the MFT forum using my new Beach Bum set...so cute! The card is 5" square and all the DP is from my Thrift Shop paper pack. The shovel, main image, and sentiment are all up on foam tape. The yellow ruffled ribbon was secured to the back of the red mat with some Scor Pal tape.

Thanks for stopping by! Tomorrow I'll be headed to CHA to hang out with my friend, Lori. This will be my first CHA.....so excited!

Patchwork Butterflies

Hey there! I was checking out Debbie Olson's blog and fell in love with this adorable quilted card (the third one in her post) so I just had to make something similar. I love those cute little bows she added where the squares intersect and I thought the little butterfly from my Night Owl set would work well.

My Cute Stamps and the October Afternoon papers are available at Stamper's Dream.

Today we're going swimming at my aunt's pool and then tonight.....if I can get rid of the butterflies in my stomach and find some freakin' confidence.....I'm going to try and run a 5K. If I do, it'll be my first! I'm a pretty slow runner so my only goal is to finish. I'll let you know if I actually did it or not. Eeek!

Paper: Textured Barely Banana, Kraft, Thrift Shop DP (October Afternoon)

DTGD2010 - Orange Hibiscus

Hi there! Here's another Dare to Get Dirty card to share with you. This one is for Joan's challenge. Back when I was a dirty girl, one of the monthly themes was "colors of the rainbow" and I was lucky enough to team up with her to make all the orange cards for that month.....and she's been my "orange buddy" ever since. Love ya, Joan! I had so much fun with this!

The card also combines craftycaro and rsalamon's challenges. If you're a Fan Club Member on SCS, head on over to the DTGD Challenge Forum and check out the details of all the challenges. I think you have until August 1st to complete all the challenges and then you'll be entered to win a prize!

I'd been oooohing and aaaahing over these Verve hibiscus stamps for so long and wanted them so much.....and my good friend Dawn bought them for me for my birthday.....sooo incredibly sweet of her! The large white panel with the scored lines is up on foam tape, so is the oval and one of the hibiscus (the one in the middle). I added some orange peel stickles to the centers of all three hibiscus and added some orange mini flower rhinestones under the sentiment. Here's a close-up:

Have an awesome day!

DTGD2010 - Julie's Challenge

Julie (justwritedesigns) Warner is hosting a Dare to Get Dirty Challenge today, and I'm so honored to be one of her sample makers. Thanks, Julie!! If you're a fan club member on SCS, be sure to check out her challenge and play along if you get a chance. FUN!

For my card, I used this sweet Jean-Luc Playing Ball with Claude stamp that I got from Stamper's Dream. The image was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black, colored with Prisma pencils, blended with Gamsol, and I added Stickles to the flowers, patches, collar, and ball. The Vintage Cream oval is up on foam tape and I did the ribbon pleating with Scor-Pal tape. The sentiment is from my Flourishes Violets set. It's a clear-set so I was able to "curve" the sentiment around the oval. The DP is Report Card by October Afternoon.

Have a great day!

Jumpin' on the Twilight bandwagon!

Yep, took me long enough but I'm a Twilight fan! I watched the first two movies on DVD, went to the theater with my daughter to see Eclipse, and now I'm going back and reading all the books, beginning with Twilight...they're awesome!! I've been wanting to make one of these corner bookmarks ever since I saw Beate's tutorial so today I made time to make myself one....so fun!

My bookmark is inspired by the New Moon book cover...

I used my Flourishes Thank You set (isn't this tulip a GREAT image to go with that book cover?!...love it!) I got my Flourishes set from Stamper's Dream. It's currently sold out, but Michelle carries lots of other sets in her store including the newest release. My tulip is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored with Copics, and I added some Diamond Stickles on the dark parts of the flower (after all, Edward sparkles like diamonds in the sunlight, right?...hehe!).

Hope you're enjoying the weekend!

Hey there! The Dare to Get Dirty 2010 Challenges have started over on SCS. If you're a fan club member, head on over and check them out.....FUN! I made this card for Bev's Challenge. My card is based on the show LOST. I know, the show is off the air but I just hadda make a card for it....it was my all-time favorite show...EVER!

Remember Jacob's little run-down house in the jungle?....doesn't this image from OCL's Sandy Sunsets remind you of that? .....

Ooooooooh, spooky! I added some Platinum Stickles along the sand, sponged the main image with Sage Shadow and Creamy Caramel, and tattered up the edges....after all, everyone on that island looked pretty tattered, didn't they?

You can find Our Craft Lounge stamps at Inspiration Emporium.....and (eeks!) they're going to be selling some of my cards (including this one that I'm showing you today) in the very near future. I've never sold my cards before so this is all new and exciting to me!

Have a fantastic day!

A weekend to celebrate!

Hey all! Happy 4th of July, happy birthday to me, and a big ole' happy (belated) anniversary to my girl Dawn and her awesome hubby! It was their wedding anniversary on Friday so if you get a chance, stop by and send her some big happy anniversary wishes. This card is for you Dawn and it's now in the mail and on it's way to you. Hope you like it....

I went with red, white and blue colors for this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge. The Penny Black stamp is called Kisses and it's available at Stamper's Dream. I stamped the image four times....once on the cream base, once on the blue star DP, and twice on MME Bella Bella French Flea Market DP (the backside which is cream with a light tan sanded pattern). I cut out the bow and tag from one of the MME images, colored the bow and ribbon with a light blue Prisma pencil and blended it with Gamsol, added some Silver Stickles to it, and paper pieced it over the gift. Then I cut out just the tag from the second stamped MME image and popped that up on foam tape over the other one. I added some May Arts silver cord through the tag and bow. The kraft mat behind the main image is also up on foam tape.

Here's a close-up so you can see the dimension and sparkle (remember, you can click on all my photos to make them bigger) ...

I wish you all a very FUN and SAFE holiday!!
