Sweet Peas

I've had this Sweet Peas set for quite a while now and FINALLY got to ink it up. The layout is Mercy Kerin's Sketch 36, I added pearls to the sentiment for the Timeless Tuesday Challenge, and the ribbon treatment on the oval sentiment (from the Signs of Spring set) was totally inspired by this card from Christine Okken. LOVE how she did the ribbon and just HAD to try it for myself! (You're such an inspiration, Christine!) The pearls were originally white and I colored them with my RV21 Copic.

Flourishes stamps, May Arts ribbon, curved rectangle nesties, Kaiser Craft pearls, and the Prism Vibrant Pink CS are all available at Stamper's Dream.

The Kraft mat behind the main image is up on foam tape. The sponging around the main image was done with Pretty in Pink ink.

SUPPLY LIST ~
Stamps: Flourishes Sweet Peas, Flourishes Signs of Spring (sentiment)
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, Prism Vibrant Pink, Kraft
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Pretty in Pink
Copics: RV21, RV23, 0, G40, G21, G24, G28
Accessories: May Arts Plaid Ribbon, Button, Pink String, SU Sm and Lg Oval Punches, Kaiser Craft Pearls, Curved Mega Rectangle Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Cornice Punch, Sponge, Foam Tape

Hope you're enjoying the weekend. I'm pretty much going to couch out today...earlier last week, my 4-year-old got a case of the sniffles and now I have it. Ugh! It's too early in the season for this!

There She Goes Reunion

Hey all! I have a TSG card to show you today. Jessica Knutsen invited all of us "retired" {giggle} DT members to play along in a reunion post today, and she sent me this adorable Treemendous set to play with. Thanks, Jessica!!

The tree and sentiment (which is actually three separate stamps) was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black. The adhesive-backed rhinestones are from Michael's, I layered some black gingham ribbon over some green satin ribbon, and the bow was tied with my Bow Easy. See those tiny little leaves stamped along the piercing? Those are from the Treemendous mini set as well.

I added some more of them to the inside of the card too....

Chocolate Truffles & Strawberries

Hi all! I have a couple challenge cards to show you today, both using my TE Berries & Cherries set.

The first card is for today's SCS Sketch and yesterday's SCS Color Challenge...well, almost...I used Riding Hood Red instead of Real Red. The brown mat rectangle behind the truffle is up on foam tape, and I added some Platinum Stickles to the swirls on the truffle. I love this sentiment (my trainer would probably disagree with with it and tell me to just stick with the natural cherry...giggle!).

The next card is for this week's Midnight Madness sketch, and again I went with the SCS Colors...this time using the Real Red like I was supposed to (just for you, Dawn!, hehe!).

The largest Chocolate panel on the base of the card is up on foam tape.

Have an AWESOME day!

LeAnne & Cathy

Hi all! I got to go shopping yesterday with LeAnne and Cathy and thought I'd share a picture. Here we are at L&L Rubber Stamps (1015 Frys Road, Ephrata, PA). Thanks to LeAnne for spotting it, I FINALLY got a Scor-Pal! Yeah baby! I also got the diamond plate cuttlebug folder and some more Copics...gotta have more, ya know?

After shopping we headed over to the Shady Maple Smorgasbord, had some lunch that Cathy treated us to, and then headed upstairs to the awesome gift shop...where I got a Sun & Sand Yankee Candle that...again....LeAnne showed me. Ohhhhh, such a wonderful beachy smelling candle!

LeAnne, it was SOOOO awesome to hang out with you again. You just have such a cute personality, your smile is infectious. Thanks so much for my adorable journal too!! Cathy, it was GREAT to meet you in person, and you were SOOOO nice to treat us to lunch. What a sweetheart you are! Thanks again!!

Well, if the rain holds out (and that's a big IF because the forecst doesn't look good), at lunchtime today I'm heading to Maple Grove for the Nationals with my Dad. The night qualifying is the BEST...so FUN!!

Pics from the Jersey Shore

Hey all! We were in Wildwood, New Jersey the past four days...just thought I'd share some beach photos!

We got there pretty late in the afternoon on Saturday, so that night we just went out for dinner and then headed up to the boardwalk for a while. We got tired pretty early from the long day of driving. On Sunday I went for a long walk/jog on the boardwalk while everyone was still sleeping, we grabbed some breakfast, headed to the beach for a couple hours where my DH and 4-year-old made a sand castle, came back and hung out by the hotel pool the rest of the afternoon, and headed back to the boardwalk that night for some pizza and rides on the piers.

On Monday I took my daughter to the waterpark in the a.m. while DH went on a 6-mile (wowie, huh?!) hike, then we hung by the pool again for the rest of the afternoon. That night we ate out at a seafood restaurant by the Marina...I just love watching the boats coming in and going out right by where we're eating...such a relaxing atmosphere. After dinner we decided to take a drive over to Cape May and see the lighthouse. We hiked up the 271 steps to the top, what a beautiful view from up there!

Yesterday I got up at 6 a.m. and went for my last boardwalk jog, we grabbed breakfast, went up to the boardwalk again to do some shopping, and then headed home. I totally could have stayed for a couple more days. I love EVERYTHING about the beach....the salty air, the sound of the waves and seagulls, even that goofy "watch the tram car" recording (those of you that go to Wildwood KNOW what I'm talking about).

Today it was back to reality and I had my 6-week (the half-way point in my 12-week program) weigh-in and progress eval with Elaine. I was sweatin' this one, let me tell you!....I was good about exercising every day while we were on vacation and we did a lot of walking, but I wasn't good with journaling my food and I really had no idea how I did on calories. Needless to say I was "freaked out"...as my husband puts it....and nervous about my appointment this morning. I'm RELIEVED to report that I still lost a pound while on vacation. So, I'm down a total of 8.5 pounds AND I had all my measurements taken again...I've lost inches all around. Yippeeee!! That's JUST the motivation I needed to get through another six weeks.

Have an awesome night! I'll be back tomorrow to show you something crafty. {smile}

Flourishes Seaside Life

Hi everyone! Here's a card I uploaded to SCS last Tuesday. It was for the Timeless Tuesday challenge, which was hosted by none other than my girl Silke. Her challenge was to add scoring somewhere on the card. I scored stripes into the vellum panel. I also combined it with Mercy's Sketch #34. Flourishes stamps including this one are available at Stamper's Dream.

The tag and three of the shells are up on foam tape. The shells were stamped in Close to Cocoa and Creamy Caramel ink onto MME French Flea Market DP (the reverse side of the blue *Sweetness To Me* pattern). The matting and card base is Prism Suede.

Have a Ghostly Good Time

I just LOOOVE this Ghostly Greetings set from OCL! Halloween cards are so much fun to make, aren't they?

Some details about the card....it's a 5" square card and the layout is Mercy Kerin's latest sketch. LOVE her sketches and I'm so excited that she's bringing them back again! The main image was masked and Summer Sunrise ink was sponged around it on that main deckled panel. Then a second ghost was stamped, cut out, and popped up on foam tape. Also up on foam tape is the sponged oval sentiment, the black deckled mat behind the sentiment, and the black mat behind the main image. Vellum layers were added behind the oval sentiment and under the green DP panel. I got this cool DP at Mike's. The spider web side is embossed, the black polka dot strips are from the flip-side of the paper.

Here's a close-up:
