CTD223 Winter Thank You

Love these colors that Joan has picked for us this week. To me, they're so perfect for masculine birthday or thank you cards.  Check them out...

Here's my card...

I pulled out my fun Papertrey dies (dies are so fun, aren't they?), paired them up with a "thank you" sentiment from Flourishes' "Inside and Out Thank You" set that was just released in Deceber, and did some embossing on the snow and tree (using some new toys from SU).  Some dew drops (yes, I know they're old, but I still love them) and twine finishes it all off.

My "close" colors used were SU Kiwi, SU Crumb Cake, SU Vanilla, and Prism Paper Tawny Dark.

Be sure to hop around to see what my CTD sisters have created for you today or you can click on over to the Color Throwdown blog to see everything all in one place.

My favorite project of 2012 was this card, which was to make a sentiment the focus.  I just really like how the card came out.

FTTC200 Ornament

One more week until Christmas! Are you ready yet?  I just have a couple stocking stuffers to buy this week, wrap everything, clean the house on Saturday, and then the family get-togethers begin on Sunday.  I'm getting excited!

Today's Timeless Tuesday challenge is from Maki. She's challenging us to make 3D projects or ornaments that would go on a Christmas tree.  Here's what I came up with...

The stamped "peace" sentiment is from Trimmed with Love, the stars were die-cut with Spellbinders dies and each one is separated with a layer of foam tape, the edges of the stars were sponged with white craft ink and the largest star was trimmed with clear shard glass glitter (glued down with Diamond Glaze), papers are This and That by Echo Park, and it's finished off with a button, some red ribbon from the Rejoice 1-2-3 Create Kit, and some kraft jute.

Be sure to stop by the Timeless Tuesday blog for all the details of the challenge and, of course, you can find even more inspiration by hopping around to see what the rest of the FTTC girls have created for you....

FTTC199 - Non-traditional Christmas Colors

Hi there. How was your weekend?  Ours was good.  I went to the gym on Saturday morning with a girlfriend, went shopping with Mom and Kara on Saturday night (to Charming Charlie's...my first time there....SUCH a cute store!), and then on Sunday morning I went out for coffee and bagels with another girlfriend. We were going to go on a holiday hayride through lights on Sunday night, but the rain messed with those plans.

It's Timeless Tuesday time and Ally is our hostess this week. She's challenging us to make a Christmas card or project using non-traditional Christmas colors...so no red or green this week.  Here's my card:

I went with purple and cream using papers from Mitten Weather. The stamp is from Trimmed With Love.  The circle sentiment is up on foam tape and so is the large snowflake embossed panel. The layout is Fall-to Layout #220 from the Clean & Simple blog.

Be sure to stop by the Timeless Tuesday blog for all the details of the challenge and, of course, you can find even more inspiration by hopping around to see what the rest of the FTTC girls have created for you....

Color Throwdown #221

Hi everyone!  So we put up our Christmas tree on Sunday, got the inside of the house all decorated with lights and decorations, and hubby outlined the outside of the house in white lights. I just love sitting in the room with only the Christmas tree lit up. So romantic!

It's Wednesday and that means it's time for this week's Color Throwdown challenge.  Barbara has some true traditional Christmas colors for us this week. Check it out...

Here's what I came up with using stamps from Flourishes' Poinsettia and Pine:

The berry and pine image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Classic Ivory CS, colored with Copics, hand cut out with scissors, and popped up on foam tape.  The sentiment was stamped onto kraft CS and then I ran it through the Cuttlebug with my snowflakes embossing folder.  Papers are "This and That Christmas" by Echo Park.

FTTC Altered Christmas

Hi there! How's your week so far?  So far so good here. Hoping the week speeds right by and the weekend gets here quick.

It's Timeless Tuesday time and Amanda is our hostess this week. She's challenging us to make an altered Christmas project (a gift, a treat item, a decoration, a banner, etc.).  I decided to make a gift tag:

I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment from Trimmed With Love onto kraft CS with Versafine onyx black ink and then sponged some white craft ink around it (something I saw my friend Dawn Easton do and I just had to try it...makes it look snowy, huh?).  The moss green seam binding, kraft jute string, classic ivory CS (scallop border and snowflake) and the Echo Park This and That DP are all from the Flourishes store.

Be sure to stop by the Timeless Tuesday blog for all the details of the challenge and, of course, you can find even more inspiration by hopping around to see what the rest of the FTTC girls have created for you....

CTD220 Teacher

We just got a letter from Kara's teacher that she's moving into a reading specialist role so now Kara will have a new teacher for the rest of the year. I hope Kara likes her new teacher and things continue to go well for the rest of the year.  I decided to make a teacher card with this week's Color Throwdown colors from Wanda. Check it out...

I used my Bloomin' Aussie Florals set from Flourishes:

The main matted image is up on foam tape and so is the "teacher" sentiment.  I also added a little bit of stardust Stickles to the centers of the flowers.

FTTC Silver and Gold

Hey there!  Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful with lots of good food and laughs.  Ours was very good. We had an early dinner at my MIL's with DH's side of the family and then that evening went to my brother's place where all of my family had gathered.

Then on Black Friday, we drove back down to pick up my SIL's old elliptical and got it set up in our rec room. Yep, it's high time I get back on the fitness wagon.  I even went as a guest to my friend's gym last night. I've been a slacker for months now....too long.  Anywhoooo....onto today's Timeless Tuesday Challenge!....

Cindy is our hostess this week and she's challenging us to add silver and gold to our projects.  Here's my card:

I stamped the Christmas tree from Trimmed With Love in white craft ink onto vellum, then heat embossed it with Egyptian Gold embossing powder.  Next I cut a thin strip of kraft on an angle for the sentiment(s), added some silver adhesive pearls and silver and gold cord.  Really easy card.  The picture doesn't capture the sparkle, but it's reeeally sparkly with the embossing powder.   :)

CTD219 Happy Birthday

Hello there.  It's Color Throwdown time and Tammy has some really pretty, soft colors for us this week. Check it out...

I made another CAS card....seems to be all I have time for lately.  I'm hoping my schedule opens up a little now so I can get back to coloring. Feels like forever since I've colored an image.  Anyway.....

Stamps are by Verve, the pearl butterfly and swirls are from Flourishes, and the pennant/fishtail flags are from MFT and Lil' Inker Designs.  The base layer of white CS is up on foam tape on the card  base.

FTTC196 -- "Happy" cards

Hi everyone! It's Timeless Tuesday time and Broni is our hostess this week. She's challenging us to make "happy" cards and we can interpret that any way we like.  I chose to make a "happy" birthday card.  Here it is...

Stamps are Flourishes "Inside and Out Happy," papers are MME Lavender, I added some sewing, twine, teal blue seam binding, and adhesive pear swirls.  The die-cut sentiment is up on foam tape and there's also some sewing between the DP patterns.

Be sure to stop by the Timeless Tuesday blog for all the details of the challenge and, of course, you can find even more inspiration by hopping around to see what the rest of the FTTC girls have created for you....

FTTC195...and a sneak peek!

Hi everyone!  I'm excited to be this week's host over on the Timeless Tuesday blog, as it's also day two of the November sneak peeks.  Our challenge this week is an inspiration challenge using this photo...

...and here's a sneak peek of the new stamp set that all of us on the Flourishes teams are previewing today. It's called "Inside and Out, Just Because"...

Here's the front of my card...

I stamped the "just because" sentiment in creamy caramel onto kraft CS, added some cotton lace, kraft jute, and adhesive pearls.  The patterned paper is Quilting Bee by My Mind's Eye.

Here's a photo of the inside of the card where I stamped another sentiment from the set....

All the ladies on the Flourishes Senior DT are joining us on the Timeless Tuesday blog today.  If you'd like to hop around to see more of this new set, the links are all provided for you below.  Have a really great day!!

CTD217 CAS Christmas

Hi everyone!  I'm this week's hostess on the Color Throwdown Blog.

When I saw this cute outfit on Pinterest, I thought it'd make a great color combo for our challenge this week....two colors plus two neutrals...right up my alley. I hope you like them.

I decided to go very CAS with the colors and made this card using Naturally Merry from Flourishes, some  Moss Green seam binding, pearl finesse swirls, foam tape (the sentiment circle), Night of Navy CS and Classic White CS.

FTTC194 Silhouettes

Hi everyone!  We made it through Hurricane Sandy just fine. We did lose power for three days, but we had a generator to run the fridge, flush toilets, heat water for the shower, etc., and our coal/wood stove kept us warm. We also didn't have ANY damage...so relieved that none of our trees fell.  I know others weren't so fortunate and my heart goes out to those people. I really hope repairs can be made fairly quickly for them and that the ones who are without power are able to keep warm.

It's Timeless Tuesday time and Maki is our hostess this week. She's challenging us to make a card/project using silhouette stamps.

For my card, I used stamps from Country Road and Sentimental Favorites, stamped the main image on Classic Ivory and popped the square up on foam tape, and added some yellow twine.  The card measures 4" square and the layout is (pretty much) Deconstructed Sketch #76.  Papers are Quilting Bee by My Mind's Eye.

Be sure to stop by the Timeless Tuesday blog for all the details of the challenge and, of course, you can find even more inspiration by hopping around to see what the rest of the FTTC girls have created for you....
