Let's Hang Out

Good morning! Hope you're all having a good Tuesday so far.

I made this little circle card for yesterday's Mojo sketch 136 and today's Timeless Tuesday vintage challenge. Vintage to me means to make a card look a little aged, so I distressed the edges of the circle and Material Girl DP with my fingernail and sponged some Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink around the edges of the DP, sentiment, circle and scallop circle. The images and sentiment are from Flourishes Friendly Reminders. An extra hat was stamped in Memento rich cocoa, colored with Copics, and popped up on foam tape over the hat rack. The sentiment is also up on foam tape.

Have a great day!

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Copic Markers

Bird & Bear

Hi all! Here's a card that started out for Karen G's Sweet Sunday Sketch, but I ended up carrying the ric-rac all the way across (because I couldn't get anything to work by bringing it part way across...just more creative struggles on my part, oye!). The sweet Bird & Bear image is another cutie by Penny Johnson. I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored it with Copic markers, and then added some mini flower rhinestones with dots of Diamond Glaze. The chipboard butterflies were inked with Memento Tangelo and Brilliance Pearlescent Orange.

Stampavie stamps, Prism papers, ZVA mini rhinestones, Memento inks, and the chipboard butterflies are all available at Stamper's Dream.

Here's a close-up:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're having a great day. I'm off to watch the race (if the rain holds out in Texas) and make some bead art with my 5-year-old. Enjoy!

Mojo134 Wildflower

Hi all! Earlier this week I tried to make a card and I just could NOT get anything to work. Well, I guess that bummed me out because then for days I didn't even TRY to make a card... just plain didn't feel like it. Well, today I woke up with a HUGE desire to stamp (finally) so I printed off Julee's Mojo sketch 134 and inked up my new Feel the Sun set. I love this set!

The blossom nestie and main sentiment panel are both up on foam tape and they were sponged with Apricot Appeal ink. I added some orange peel stickles to the flower and colored some clear rhinestones with a YR04 Copic marker.

Have a GREAT day!

Sweet Dreams

Hi all and happy Sunday! I just got this Penny Johnson Sweet Dreams stamp from Stamper's Dream and couldn't wait to ink it up. When I saw the stamp I thought it would go great with this Dream Big sentiment from my JustRite Just a Note set (This stamp actually has two butterflies with it. I inked up just the words with a black SU marker.) I added some yellow stickles to the candle glow and some silver stickles to the moon, stars, and floor. The Pink Wired Net Ribbon and Kaiser Craft Pearls are also from Stamper's Dream. I colored the pearls with a pink RV42 Copic marker.

The colors are from this past week's Color Throwdown Challenge.

Have a great day!

Enchiladas and Italian Drip Beef

Here are a couple more recipes I've tried recently from Ree Drummond.....and they are really yummy recipes! She ROCKS!

Both of these are 5 x 7 cards. I didn't use any stamps on the enchilada card...just DP, sewing, a little bit of eucalyptus stickles on the tomato leaf, and a border punch. On the drip beef card, I used my Hero Arts What's Cooking clear set that I got from Stamper's Dream. The pot holders were stamped on the Farm Fresh DP in Memento Tuxedo Black, cut out and attached to the card with brads and tape.

....oh, and here are direct link's to Ree's recipes:

Simple, Perfect Enchiladas
(*note: I used cooking spray instead of canola oil in my recipe for softening the corn tortillas.....saves 100 calories per enchilada by using cooking spray)

Sweet Scalloped Strawberry

Just thought I'd play with my Sweet Chocolate set and Lush patterned papers some more. I think the chocolate-covered strawberry from this set is my fav....probably because that's my VERY favorite sweet indulgence. I covered the strawberry in Chocolate Espresso Pearls (so fun) and accented the seeds and leaves with eucalyptus Stickles. The circle with the strawberry and the scallop circle behind it are both up on foam tape.

My Cute Stamps, Prism papers, My Mind's Eye DP, Stickles, and Espresso Pearls are all available at Stamper's Dream.

Hope you're having a great day!

Mint Chocolate Chip

Mmmmmmm...it's my favorite ice cream flavor. {smile} I decided to play with my Sweet Chocolate set from My Cute Stamps and I had this Lush Brown DP on my counter so I thought why not....let's make a mint chocolate chip card today.

I highlighted the swirls in the ice cream with eucalyptus Stickles and added dots of Espresso Chocolate Pearls to make the *chocolate chips* in my ice cream. Mmmmm...see, now there I go making myself hungry...again, lol! The oval and scallop oval are both up on separate layers of foam tape.

Here's a close-up of the sparkle and the *chocolate chips*...

I wish you all a VERY Happy Easter Sunday!

Colors from a magazine

Have you ever stood in the grocery line, saw a magazine cover, and thought "WOW, I need to make a card with those colors!" Well, back in....I think it was the February issue, right?....I saw this Glamour Magazine cover and thought that very thing. Ever since, I've had that color combo in my head and finally got a chance to make some cards with those colors. Aren't they fun?

Anyhoo....onto the cards for today. {smile}

This first card is for today's OCL Sketch #7 over on the OCL blog:

I used my Vintage Roses set, stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored the main image with Copics, and then added some clear Spica glitter accents on the fur on her hat, tassles, neckline, and on the flowers. All three nesties are up on separate layers of foam tape. On the Pink Passion and Brilliant Blue panels, I stamped some floral silhouettes with my Dandy Days set in Versamark and then added some sewing.

The next card is for last week's OCL Sketch #6:

I again used my Vintage Roses set but this time stamped it in Versafine Onyx Black and watercolored the image. The Blossom Nestie is up on foam tape and I added a blue rhinestone on the bow on top of the hat box. The colors on this card are Pacific Point, Bashful Blue, and PTI's Raspberry Fizz.

I think the colors on the first card are closer to the colors on the magazine cover....what do you think?

Have a GREAT day, and don't forget, if you play along in the sketch challenge you'll have a chance to win a free stamp set!

IO Week - Love Chandelier

Hi all, I'm back with my second project for Impression Obsession Week along with Leslie, Michelle and Cindy.

The outside of my card today features Impression Obsession's Love Chandelier stamp. The image is stamped on Neenah White with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. I added some Gold Stickles to the beads under the candles, tied a double-loop bow with my Bow Easy, and stuck a stick pin through the ribbon. The Curved Mega Rectangle that the chandelier is stamped on is up on foam tape.

Here's the inside of the card where I used a sentiment and a heart from my Celebrate clear set (the set that I showed you on Tuesday)....

.....check out those quilted hearts and how they MATCH the one on the outside of the card. I discovered this by accident when I had the different stamps and images sitting on my counter...and I was giddy when I realized that they matched perfectly! (yeah, I'm easily amused I guess, lol!)

That's it for me today. Be sure to stop by Laurie, Silke, Michelle and Tosh's blogs tomorrow for more projects featuring Impression Obsession products!
