Mojo247 Summer Butterfly

Oh my friggin' word, we've been without power since late last night and it JUST (as in 4 p.m.) came back on. Luckily, we have a generator to run all the basics like the fridge and everything, but the central air was down so it was getting hot in here and I couldn't get on the internet (I know...booo hoooo, right?....lol!).  We're back in business now though and I made a few cards today while the power was out.  This one is for Mojo Monday Sketch 247.

It's a 4" square card, stamps are from Verve's "Fluttering By" set, papers are Summer Fresh (by Simple Stories), the punched sentiment and kraft circle are up on foam tape, and there's an extra butterfly that was stamped onto the DP, cut out, and also popped up on foam tape.

The circle is a Spellbinders die, the sentiment was punched with SU's word window punch, the "flag" at the top was cut with MFT's First Place Award Die-namics, and the cream-colored ric-rac was cut with MFT's ric-rac Die-namics.

Hope you're having a great weekend so far. Now that the power is back, I'm off to do some laundry....

Water you up to? :)

{giggle}...Love that sentiment from my Wild For Watermelon set (Flourishes).  I thought I'd play with the set some more and make a card using Deconstucted Sketch 57.

I stamped two watermelon slices, colored them with Copics (Pure Poppy Collection and Grass Green Collection), and popped the top one up on foam tape. The Spellbinders oval is also up on foam tape. I added a couple Kaiser Craft pearls on two of the flowers in the patterned paper and used some lime green plisse ribbon.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Timeless Tuesday Team!

Helloooooooo everyone!! I have some awesome news to share today. I'm joining the Friends of Flourishes Timeless Tuesday blog team as of today. Wheeeeee!  I'm beyond excited and I couldn't wait to share the news. After my year-long break from DT work, I'm sooooo ready to get back into it and have some fun with the Friends of Flourishes team.  :)

So...onto today's challenge (FTTC175).  This week, Silke is hosting the challenge and it's all about "Favorites".....use your favorite Spellbinders die with your favorite Flourishes stamp set and add your favorite embellishment.

I JUST got this Wild for Watermelon set and I luvvvvvv it!!  I have several Flourishes sets that I love, but this is definitely going to be my new favorite.  I also used my circle Nestabilities by Spellbinders and some of my favorite crochet lace ribbon by May Arts.  The button is from my Basic Grey Jovial pack and the layout is Mojo Monday sketch 244 again....I loved it so much that I'm using it a second time.  :)

The scallop circle and sentiment are up on foam tape, I added Stickles to the watermelon, papers are Simple Stories Summer Fresh, and the image was colored with Copics (Pure Poppy Collection, Green Grass Collection, E31, E33, and E51).

Let Your Dreams Soar

Hi all.  Thank you to those of you who emailed me or left me a comment about our rough week. Today was much better!  The weather was beautiful and we got to spend the day outside relaxing with friends. While waiting for our friends to arrive, I made this card for the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch and the Play Date Cafe Color Challenge...

Stamps are Flopsey Flies a Kite from MFT, the image is colored with Copics (0, E41, E42, E43, W1, W3, W5, R20, B0000, B00, B02, B05), Papers are Authentique Glory, and the card measures 5" square.

Thanks so much for stopping by and sweet dreams. I'm off to bed.  :)

Quick Birthday Card

Hi all. This has been a lonnnng and rough week here in the Marzec household so I put together this quick (stamping therapy) card for Color Throwdown 197 and Mojo Monday Sketch 246...

I didn't have all of the colors listed on the Color Throwdown blog, so I just got as close as I could. I used Tangerine Tango, Groovy Guava, Kiwi Kiss, and Kraft.  The crochet lace ribbon is wrapped around a piece of old Groovy Guava DP.  The happy birthday sentiment is from Verve's "Big Wish" set and the butterflies were cut with Verve's Flutterby Die.

I hope you all have a nice weekend.

Take Flight!

I made this for Hailey, who just got a full-time dog grooming job. Whooo-hoooo! We're so excited for her!

The layout is Deconstructed Sketch #56, stamps are from "Take Flight" from Gina K Designs, and papers are 29th Street Market by My Mind's Eye.  The butterfly was stamped once in Versamagic Perfect Plumeria, cut out with the oval Nestabilities, and then a second one was stamped and cut out with scissors and popped up on foam tape.  The sentiment was die-cut with MFT's First Place Award Die-namics and I glued it down so that the center curves up and off the DP.

Have a great Tuesday!

Millie Mouse

I made this for Color Throwdown #196 and MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #76.

Stamp and sentiment is Millie Mouse from MFT, papers are On The Bright Side-One by My Mind's Eye, Millie is colored with Copics (0, E41, E42, E43, Y00, Y08, R20, B0000, B00, B02), and I used an SU embossing folder for the kraft panel. The die-cut sentiment (MFT's First Place Award) is up on foam tape.

Have a great Sunday!

Let's Hang Out

I wanted to play with the Mojo Monday sketch (very cool sketch, IMO) and use the colors on the Play Date Cafe (love purples and blues together). Here's what I came up with...

Stamps are from Friendly Reminders from Flourishes.  The patterned paper is from Michael's (sorry, I don't remember the name since it's been so long since I got it), the textured purple CS is from SU, and the kraft and cream is from PTI.  The image was colored with B000, B00, B02, E41, E42, E43, BV02, and BV17 Copics.  The scalloped kraft circle is up on foam tape and so is the punched sentiment. The pearls were white and I colored them with a BV04 Copic.

TGIF!

Sweet Pea Hello

I made this card for Sweet Sunday Sketch 160...

The sweet pea image is from Flourishes' Sweet Peas set, the tiny (can you see it??) "hello" sentiment is from Flourishes' Friendly Reminders set, papers are Howdy Doody by My Mind's Eye, the main image is up on foam tape, and dots of Stickles were added around the main image for sparkle. Speaking of "dots".....I made a mistake and got a spot of my R02 Copic on the edge of the main panel.....so to hide it, I added some more dots....and then some more....and then some more.....well, I think I went overboard on the dots...lol!  Oh well...it's a finished card so I wanted to post it.  :)  The card measures 4.25" square.

Copics: 0, G21, G24, G28, G40, R00, R02

Have a great day!

Welcome Home, Lo!

A good friend of mine had a cat go "missing" a year and a half ago. Well, last week she FOUND him about a mile from their house, alive and well thanks to a nice couple who were feeding him, and now he's back home with my girlfriend where he belongs.  Ahhhhh, I love a happy ending.  Anyhooooo, I wanted to make a "cat card" to send to her to welcome him home.....

I used Deconstructed Sketch 55 for the layout, colors from last week's Color Throwdown (I totally missed the cut-off for playing along on time), a cat from Penny Black's "Stuck on You" clear set, sentiment from Delta that I picked up at Michael's, and ribbon/scallop dies from MFT Stamps.  There's a curve in the sentiment by gluing down the ends close together and the main image with the cat is up on foam tape. Papers are Howdy Doody by My Mind's Eye. Stickles were added to the heart on the envelope that the cat is holding. Copics:  0, W1, W3, E41, E42, E43, R20

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by.  :)

Sweet Day

I made this for a special lady who loves sweets and is turning 30 today.  :)

I used a lot of papers from my Summer Fresh (Simple Stories) paper pad...seriously love this stuff.  The red sentiment is up on foam tape and the denim blue panel with the pie (from TE's Berries and Cherries set) is also up on foam tape.  Stickles were added to the steam and the vent holes in the pie for some sparkle. Copics: 0, E41, E42, E43, W1, W3, W5, B000, B00, B02, R24.

Here's the inside where I used more Summer Fresh papers and stamped her a Happy Birthday sentiment (from TE's Branching Out set)...

Have a good one!

Congrats, Grad!

Our neighbor's son just graduated from high school and this is the card I made for him.

Stamped sentiment is from OCL's School's Out set, pennants were cut with MFT's Banner Day Die-namics and they're layered up on foam tape (you can see a pic below), the cornice border is a Martha Stewart punch, papers are Authentique "Glory," ribbon is from Papertrey, twine is from the Twinery, and I've had these adhesive stars in my stash for a long time (can't remember where they're from).

Hope you're having a great weekend so far.  :)

Beautiful Friend

Hey there and happy Saturday!  Yay, for the weekend, right?  :)

I made this card for a friend of mine using the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge on SCS.  It's a 5" square card.  Stamped sentiment is from Polka Dot Greetings from MFT and it was cut with the Die-namics included in the set.  Papers are Authentique "Glory" that I bought from i{heart}papers.  The friend sentiment was stamped in Bordering Blue on Vintage Cream CS from PTI and popped up on foam tape.  The "flower" element was hand cut from the Glory paper pad and also popped up on foam tape.

Here's a close-up so you can see the dimension...

...and here's the inside where I used another sentiment from Polka Dot Greetings, stamped it on MFT's File Tab Die-namics, and hand cut another "flower" from the Glory papers....

Have an awesome Saturday!

For our bus driver

I gave this to Kara's bus driver this morning...bus drivers are pretty awesome, aren't they?  Ours is....she even gives Rusty a dog treat every morning...so of course he LOVES her, too...lol!

The layout is Mojo Monday Sketch #244, all the kraft flags are up on foam tape, all stamps are from There She Goes ("Believe In You"), papers are Summer Fresh by Simple Stories, and I added Stickles to different parts of the bus for some sparkle.  Copics: W1, W3, W5, R22, YR21, YR24.

Have a great Friday!

Game On

..(or actually, "game off").....Kara is now finished with her first soccer season so I made this for her coach to thank him for being so encouraging and fun (as it should be for a bunch of 7-year-olds).  She really liked having him as her coach and already asked if he'll be her coach in the fall (that'd be cool if he was).

The stamp is by Penny Black (called "Game On"), the layout is the June Sketch For You To Try, both clouds are up on foam tape, both stars are up on foam tape, the main image is also up on foam tape, and I added some machine stitching around the edges and along the "hill."  The burgundy paper used for the stars is Apple Cider by Imaginisce.  The white wood and green polka dot papers are from my On The Bright Side-Two paper pad by My Mind's Eye. Those are some funky shoes, huh?....well, I wanted to do the school colors of burgundy and gold. :)

Copics used:  YG11, YG13, YG17, BG0000, BG10, BG11, R20, R46, R59, YR000, YR00, YR15, YR21, E41, E42, E43, W1, W5, 0.

Tomorrow is Kara's last day of school so I'm enjoying my last QUIET day of having the house to myself....so on that note, I think I'll see what other crafy challenges I can play along in....fun!  Have a good one!

Look Whoo joined the family tree

My cousin, Kim, had her baby boy early Monday morning so I put this card together and then went with my mom to visit them at the hospital. Mom and baby are doing great, the delivery was fast and smooth, and everyone is so excited!  He's a beautiful boy.....oh that soft, velvety skin. So sweet!

Stamps are from My Cute Stamps and the set is called Night Owl.  The clouds are all up on foam tape, the felt grass was cut free handed and then I stitched it on the sewing machine, and the owl was also popped up on foam tape. It's colored with B00, B02, B05, YR21, E41, E42, and E43 Copics.

Have an awesome Tuesday!

Just buzzin' by to say...

...have a HONEY of a day.  That's what it says on the inside of the card and I'll show you a pic of it at the end of this post.  First, about the front of the card...

It's a 4.25" square card and the layout is Deconstructed Sketch 54.  The set is from Flourishes and it's called "Bee My Honey."  I was lucky enough to win this set a while ago, but I think this is the first card I've made with it. I forgot how much I love to color Flourishes images.  They're easy and fun to color with all the shading marks right there in the image.  The sentiment on the front was stamped onto a die-cut (MFT's First Place Ribbon Award Die-namics) and popped up on foam tape. Papers are Summer Fresh by Simple Stories and I threaded some of the red DP through the yellow button.  The main matted image is up on foam tape (the kraft layer) and it's colored with 0, W1, W3, E31, E35, YR21 and YR24 Copics.  The base panel was sewn with a sewing machine and then run through the Cuttlebug with my Swiss Dots folder.

Okay, and as promised, here's the inside (it's been a LONG time since I've finished the inside of a card)...

The circle is from Spellbinders and the ribbons are MFT Die-namics.

Well, that's it for me. Thanks for stopping by and have a really great Monday.  :)

Let's Play

I made this for this week's inspiration challenge over on the Paper Smooches Sparks Blog and Freshly Made Sketch #37.....

Here's the inspiration photo from the Sparks Blog...

I went with the turquoise color and circles from the picture for the theme of my card. Oh, and the photo also has that big piano in it.....the sentiment I used is "let's play".....get it?....you can PLAY a piano.......yeah, okay, it was a stretch....lol!  Anyhooooo.....the stamp set is Chubby Chums from Paper Smooches, the circle DP is from my Echo Park Paradise Beach paper pad (I got mine at i{heart}papers), the sentiment is cut out with a flag die from Lil' Inker Designs, the large turquoise panel is tempting turquoise from SU, and I colored the dog with Copics (YG11, E41, E42, E43, 0, W1, W5, R20, R22, R24).

....and here's Freshly Made Sketch #37...

Have a great day.  :)

You're So Tweet

Hi all!  I thought I'd try my hand at submitting a card for the MFT Guest Contest.  They're offering up a chance to guest design for a month plus win $200 worth of MFT stamps and die-namics!!  How cool would that be?!  :)  Crossing my fingers!

For my card, I used my Pure Innocence "You're So Tweet" stamp set and used colors from this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge (apricot, canary, rose and latte).  Papers are Howdy Doody by My Mind's Eye and I colored the image with Copics (0, W1, W3, W5, E00, E11, E13, E25, E31, E51, E77, R20, R22, R24, Y00, Y11, Y15, YR000, YR00, YR23).  I used MFT's Button Quartet and File Tab Die-namics, and I threaded some thin strips of DP through the button holes.  The main image is up on foam tape and I paper pieced the dress with some more of the Howdy Doody DP (it's a real pale yellow pattern).  Here's a close-up...

Thanks so much for stopping by!

For a wonderful teacher

Kara's teacher has been absolutely wonderful this year. She's my favorite teacher that Kara has had so far and I think I'm really going to miss her next year.  I made this card for her to tell her how much we appreciate her...

I used my Believe in You set from There She Goes (reeeeeeally love this set....it has everything you could possibly want in a school-themed set).  The layout is Mojo Monday Sketch 243 and the card measures 4.25" square.  The circle and apple (both from Spellbinders) are up on foam tape, papers are Summer Fresh by Simple Stories that I got from i{heart}papers, the kraft panel was embossed with my Swiss Dots embossing folder, and the books were colored with Copics (E41, E43, G24, G40, Y11, Y15, YR23).  The twine is from The Twinery and I colored the row of clear rhinestones with my Y15 Copic marker).

Have a really great day!!.....I cannot even believe it's June 1st already!
