Hi everyone. Barbara is our hostess for this week's Color Throwdown and she picked some very soft, springy colors for us. Check it out...
Here's my card...
The sentiment, die-cut grass, and kite are from MFT stamps; the clouds are from Lil' Inker Designs. The kite was stamped onto the peach patterned paper, then I stamped a second one onto Barely Banana, cut it out and popped it up on foam tape. I added some pink twine bows and adhesive pearls to the kite string. The clouds are also up on foam tape.

CTD225 You Make My World Happy
Check out Kerri's colors for this week's Color Throwdown!...
Eeeek, so fun! Love Love LOVE them, Kerri!
Here's what I came up with...
I actually had ALL the SU colors for a change (yay me!), so I didn't use any DP. I figured since I had the CS, I should use it. :) The Pretty in Pink panel is embossed with SU's hounds tooth embossing folder. The Melon and Pumpkin scallops were made with a MFT die. Stamps are "Being Cute is What I Do" from MFT and the PI girl is colored with Copics (Hair: E49, YR14, YR16, YR21 Skin: E00, E11, E13 Shirt: R81, R83, R85 Pants: E41, E42, E43 Shoes: E35 Floor: W1 and W3 Flower on the Shirt: YR16, YR21). Some machine stitching and kraft string finishes it all off.
Be sure to hop around to see what the CTD girls have created for you today or you can click on over to the Color Throwdown blog to see everything all in one place.

CTD207 Grandmother's Heart
Hello and happy Wednesday morning! It's time for this week's Color Throwdown challenge and Lori is our hostess this week. Here are the colors she chose...
...and here's the card I made...
I used MFT's Clearly Sentimental About Grandparents for the sentiment, die-cut some flowers and leaves with my newest Die-namics, and added some ribbon. Tip on the rolled flower dies....after cutting and embossing them through the Cuttlebug (or whatever machine you use), crumple them up in your hand, unroll the crumpled CS, and then roll it smallest side to largest. Also, when rolling, keep it a little loose vs. rolling it super tight.

First Day of School
Hi all! Things have been really crazy busy, but crazy in a GOOD way. You may have noticed that I've only been posting on Tuesdays and Wednesdays lately for my challenge groups....well, that's because I just started a new job working OUTSIDE the home. For the last ten years, I've been a transcriptionist working from home as well as raising my youngest daughter. Times are changing though and the company I transcribe for is going to "electronic charting," which means that they don't need my services as much as they used to and my hours have been cut WAYYYYY back. I've been feeling bored at home for a while now anyway, so I made the decision to start looking for a job in addition to transcribing reports. I was lucky enough to find one right away working in a family medical office as a receptionist/registrar...you know, the girl at the desk who takes your insurance card and your co-pay or the girl who sets up your next follow-up appointment and gives you a receipt before you leave?....yep, that's my new job. I just started this past Monday and so far I REALLY like it. The people are nice, I like the medical office setting, I get to interact with patients....and....I get to wear scrubs!!....yes, that part makes me especially happy! :) :) So anyway, if my posts seem sporadic again, that is why. I'm sure I'll pick up on posting more....I just need to give myself a few weeks to get used to going TO a job again. :)
So anyway.....you didn't come here to listen to a bunch of rambling. You came to see a card, right? Okay, here's one I made for Kara's new teacher using an a la modes girl that I bought from MFT (my very first a la modes girl)....this one is called An Apple for Teacher.
Papers are by My Mind's Eye (Sweetest Thing--Honey) and the layout is this week's Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch. the tab, scalloped border, flower, and leaves are all MFT Die-namics. Oh, and I also added some Stickles to the image (the apple leaf, her belt, shirt cuff, earrings, and hair band.
Copics used: 0, R20, R22, R24, R27, C1, C3, RV21, RV23, E00, E11, E13, Y21, Y32, YR24, E33, YG11, YG13, YG17
Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back on Tuesday with the new Friends of Flourishes challenge.

CTD205 Sweetest Things
Hi everyone! Here's my card for today's Color Throwdown challenge. Joan is our hostess this week and she picked white, pool party, lucky limeade, wisteria wonder and pumpkin pie (or you can use something close to those colors). Click HERE to see the inspiration photo on the Color Throwdown blog.
For my card I used certainly celery, cool caribbean, almost amethyst, and pumpkin pie. The rolled flowers were made with an MFT Die-namics, the leaves were cut with a PTI die and embossed with my Swiss Dots embossing folder, the butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch, and the cool caribbean frame was cut with a romantic rectangles die from Spellbinders. The sentiment is from MFT's Polka Dot Greetings set.

You Make the Grade
Hi all and happy Sunday! I just bought a bunch of different MME paper pads and I couldn't wait to cut into some of it....have to say, it was hard to decide on WHICH pack to start with...but I ended up picking patterns from "A Mother's Love."
The layout is Deconstructed Sketch #63 and I picked my "You Make the Grade" PI girl for this week's Paper Players Challenge. The PI girl was stamped in Memento Tuxedo black, cut out with a Spellbinders Apple die, sponged with Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass (with the apple die in place), and colored with Copics (0, W1, W3, W5, E00, E02, E11, E13, E31, E33, E35, E37, E51, YR65, G20, YG63, AND YG67). The apple is up on foam tape and the A+ oval is up on a second layer of foam.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great Sunday!

Beautiful Friend
Hey there and happy Saturday! Yay, for the weekend, right? :)
I made this card for a friend of mine using the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge on SCS. It's a 5" square card. Stamped sentiment is from Polka Dot Greetings from MFT and it was cut with the Die-namics included in the set. Papers are Authentique "Glory" that I bought from i{heart}papers. The friend sentiment was stamped in Bordering Blue on Vintage Cream CS from PTI and popped up on foam tape. The "flower" element was hand cut from the Glory paper pad and also popped up on foam tape.
Here's a close-up so you can see the dimension...
...and here's the inside where I used another sentiment from Polka Dot Greetings, stamped it on MFT's File Tab Die-namics, and hand cut another "flower" from the Glory papers....
Have an awesome Saturday!

You're So Tweet
Hi all! I thought I'd try my hand at submitting a card for the MFT Guest Contest. They're offering up a chance to guest design for a month plus win $200 worth of MFT stamps and die-namics!! How cool would that be?! :) Crossing my fingers!
For my card, I used my Pure Innocence "You're So Tweet" stamp set and used colors from this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge (apricot, canary, rose and latte). Papers are Howdy Doody by My Mind's Eye and I colored the image with Copics (0, W1, W3, W5, E00, E11, E13, E25, E31, E51, E77, R20, R22, R24, Y00, Y11, Y15, YR000, YR00, YR23). I used MFT's Button Quartet and File Tab Die-namics, and I threaded some thin strips of DP through the button holes. The main image is up on foam tape and I paper pieced the dress with some more of the Howdy Doody DP (it's a real pale yellow pattern). Here's a close-up...

You are my sunshine..."Queen Dawn"
So my good friend Dawn (TreasureOiler) was picked as the "Queen for the Day" over on SCS. I've never played in this challenge before, but of course since Dawn is the queen, I'm playing! :) I CASE'd her sunshine card that you can see HERE and I'm going to send this to her.
The two smaller clouds are up on foam tape, the sentiment is from MFT Stamps ("Can ya Dig It"), the grass was cut out with felt (that Queen Dawn sent me), clouds were cut with MFT Die-namics, blue patterned paper is Fine and Dandy Girl by MME, and the sun was cut out from my Simple Stories Summer Fresh paper pad.
HUUUUUUUUUUGE Congrats to you, Queen Dawn!! Love ya, girlie!
Have a great day, everyone.

Freshly Made Sketch 36
Hi all! I made this card for Freshly Made Sketch #36 using my brand new Summer Fresh papers by Simple Stories that I just bought from i {heart} papers. They arrived in the mail yesterday....and oh my word, love 'em!
The large zig-zag pattern is printed that way in the paper pad so all I did was cut it out (I didn't piece all those rectangles together). Six butterflies were die cut with Verve's Flutterby die and stacked in pairs with foam tape so there's lots of dimension. The "Hello" sentiment is from my MFT Essential Sentiments set. The flag die is from Lil' Inker Designs and twine is from The Twinery.

Sunnin' Mouse
I've had a lot of extra time to craft lately (my transcription hours have been cut and I'm VERY part-time now....which is totally okay....I think I was burned out from it anyway) and it's been really fun to participate in so many sketch challenges again. This one is for Sweet Stop Sketch #159 ("Sketch with a Spin") and I added ruffled ribbon for the "spin."
The "Sunnin' Mouse" stamp is by Whipper Snapper Designs and the sentiment is from my MFT "Beach Bum" set. The main image circle is up on foam tape. I paper pierced the scallops with an Ornare piercing template (they stopped selling this one, but I think they should bring it back...I love it!) and then traced in some lines with an orange SU marker. Stickles were added to the sand, sunglasses, and floral shorts.
I want to BE this mouse right now....on the beach...sunning....ahhhhh! :)
Copics: 0, E41, E42, E43, W1, Y32, YR15, YR21, YR24, YG11, YG13, YG17, R00, R02, R81, R83, R85
Hope you have a great Monday!

Another turtle...
Here's another turtle card. This time I used a Great Impressions stamp (no name, just #E526 if you're looking for it) and Deconstructed Sketch #51 that was posted yesterday.
Papers are Fine and Dandy Girl by My Mind's Eye. Stickles were added to the flowers around the turtle. The main image and punched sentiment (from MFT Stamps) are up on foam tape. The flag tab and ric-rac were made with MFT dies, the large oval was cut with a Spellbinders die, and the small oval sentiment was punched with a SU punch. Twine is from The Twinery.

Trio of Hearts
I'm back with another "heart card." This one was inspired by this card that I saw on Pinterest by a lady with the screen name "outsidechic." I loved the cluster of hearts with the line of sewing/faux sewing. Here's my spin on it....

Papers are by Stampin' Up, hearts were cut with MFT Die-namics, I drew in a light pencil line for the machine stitching and then erased the line, and added some small twine bows to the ends of the stitching. The sentiment (also from MFT) was stamped on the yellow DP and placed behind the kraft panel through the word window punch. The whole kraft panel is up on foam tape.
Here's the inside where I added more die-cut hearts...

Have an awesome Saturday!

Rainbows and Hearts
Hey there! Long time no craft, huh? Seems to be the norm for me lately. Priorities, you know?....seems like there's always something more important to get done than crafting.....but today I MADE time! I was totally inspired by this awesome card by Jen del Muro and couldn't wait to play with my MFT heart dies and make a card.

Actually I've pinned at LEAST four "heart cards" on my Pinterest board lately....so you may just be seeing more hearts and rainbow cards from me. :)
As I mentioned, the hearts were cut out with MFT heart Die-namics. The papers are a mix of Imaginisce, Stampin' Up, Cosmo Cricket, and (I believe) My Mind's Eye. The orange and blue hearts are taped onto the white panel with adhesive. The red, yellow, green and purple hearts as well as the punched sentiment (by Stampin' Up) are up on foam tape.
Hope you're having a great day!
