Color Throwdown Team!

Whoooo-hoooooo! I'm so excited to tell you that I've been asked to join the Color Throwdown team!! Fun Fun FUN!

Here's today's inspiration photo from Bar...

...and here's my card...

I used the new Dream Big set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, patterned papers are from Simple Stories Summer Fresh, CS colors are brocade blue and kraft, and I used some PTI orange stitched ribbon.  The green mat and blue mat behind the main image are both up on separate layers of foam tape. The image was colored with Copics (YR04, YR21, YR24, B21, B23, B24, YG11, YG13, YG17) and I added Kaiser pearls to the centers of hte flowers. A couple extra flowers and the butterfly were stamped a second time, colored, cut out, and glued onto the base image to get that "out of the box" look. The layout is Deconstructed Sketch #62.

Be sure to stop by and see what the other Color Throwdown team members have created for your inspiration...

SSSC164 Sheltering Blossom

Good morning, everyone. Here's hoping this is the last sympathy card I'll need for a while now.

The layout is Sweet Sunday Sketch #164 and stamps are from SNSS ("Sheltering Cherry Blossom").  The image was colored with E41, E42, E43, R00, and R02 Copics.  The tag die is from MFT Stamps and the pink ribbon is from PTI.

Have a really great day!

SSSC163 The Sea

Hello. I'm back with another sympathy card. I don't know what's going on lately, but I'm in need of two more now.   :(

I used Sweet Sunday Sketch #163 for the layout (switched out a bow for the flower element, and moved it to the left to accommodate the image) and new July release stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy (The Sea and Sheltering Cherry Blossom).  The image and sentiment were stamped in sky blue Brilliance ink and cut out with a Romantic Rectangles Nestabilities die.  Note about the bow: I punched a hole in the main image with my slot punch so I could thread the ribbon through it and tie the bow right over it.

Have a good day.  :)

Bridge of Hope

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been quiet lately, but there's been a lot going on in the last week.  My mom is still recovering wonderfully from her knee surgery, but unfortunately in the midst of all that, my father-in-law passed away.  We just had his funeral services yesterday and all went well....so now it's just a matter of letting Dan, my MIL and BIL grieve and deal with all the emotions that go along with it. One day at a time, right?

I made this sympathy card (for a friend who lost her grandfather) this morning using one of the brand new July sets from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I was lucky enough to win the whole July release just by leaving a comment on Cathy McCauley's blog (thank you, Cathy and Korin for drawing my name!)...and I think this bridge from "Bridge of Hope" is my favorite. So pretty!  It's a quick CAS card, 4.25" x 5.5" with rounded corners, some DP and ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  {{hugs}}

Ocean Paradise

I made this card for Sweet Stop Sketch #160 and used my Ocean Paradise set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps...

Both clouds (MFT die-namics) are up on foam tape and so is the main image.  Stickles were added to the image for some sparkle (eucalyptus on the grass, platinum on the sand, and stardust in the water).  Papers are Paradise Beach by Echo Park that I bought from i{heart}papers.  The ric-rac was cut with an MFT die-namics die and the flag die is from Lil' Inker Designs.

Have a good one!

Belated Birthday Frog

I just love this frog set from Sweet 'n Sassy that I got from Korin at one of the local stamp shows. I'm trying to get a good stash of birthday cards and this image is so perfect for "belated" birthday cards.....we need a small stash of those as well, right?...when dates SNEAK up on us before we can get things in the mail?? Yep, I'm guilty of that. :)

I can't find the stamp set in Korin's store to link up to it here on my post, but I do see she has a couple other digi images and sets with the same frog. You can see them by clicking HERE with your mouse. I used my Fine & Dandy Girl papers by My Mind's Eye and added some twine bows to the pennants that are in the paper. The frog is colored with Copics and I added Stickles to his spots.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I love when you do! :)

Happy Anniversary

My aunt and uncle's anniversary (50th!) is coming up and when I saw THIS gorgeous card by Wendy, I knew I wanted to use this Sarah Kay First Kiss image on their card. Confession....I love Wendy's coloring so much that I tried to color my image like hers (she's a huge inspiration to me!)....and I literally sat with my Copics in front of my computer monitor and copied the shading as best as I could. :)

The anniversary sentiment is from my So-Frogetful set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. The main matted image is up on foam tape and I added Stickles to the girl's hair bow. The layout is the October SFYTT.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Saturday!

Sweet Stop Sketch 116

Wow, guys, it's been over two weeks since I posted my little announcement. I guess I needed a serious break, huh? Anyhooooo, I have a couple days off from work (yay!) so I went for a run (not a pretty one either...this heat is killing me!) this morning and then made this card. I'm TOTALLY out of practice on making cards. I started it this morning and it took me until this afternoon to get it finished (hmmm....slow going just like my running)....but anyway, here it is....

I used Ocean Paradise from Sweet and Sassy Stamps. Such a gorgeous set, Korin! The main panel and sentiment are up on foam tape and the layout is Sweet Stop Sketch 116. I added Stickles to the water and sand.

Here's the inside where I stamped the sentiment onto a sticker from my Seaside DP pack.....

Okay, now we're off to the pool for the rest of the afternoon. Have a WONDERFUL day...and stay cool! It's in the 90's here today....YIKES!

Sweet Stop Sketch 106

Hi all! How about another BRIGHT card for today's Sweet Stop Sketch? I'm on a roll with the bright and bold so why not, right?

For today's card I used So Frog-getful from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and paired it up with some Penny Black Mix & Match CS and DP. My card measures 4.75" square. The sentiment tag, buttons, scallop oval behind the main image, and extra "toad-ally frog-ot" sign are all up on foam tape.

Here's a close-up of the dimension...

...and here's the inside...

If you'd like to play along, here's Korin's sketch:

SNSS Birthday Blog Hop

Hi all! Today I'm hopping along in the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps customer blog hop.

This month's theme is to make a birthday project so I inked up and colored these sweet birds from One of a Kind and paired them up with a sentiment from So Frog-getful. I got both of those sets at the Allentown stamp show last weekend...thanks, Korin! Extra birds and leaves were stamped, colored, cut out, and popped up on foam tape. The clouds and Spellbinders leaves are also up on foam tape. Stickles were added to the leaves and curly limbs.

Here's a close-up of the dimension and a shot of the sparkle...

...and here's the inside of the card where I added some DP and more die-cut leaves.

I really need to get back to decorating the insides of my cards consistently again. I used to do that all the time.....then I guess I just got lazy or something, lol!

That's it for me today. Thanks for visiting and I'll be back tomorrow with a Sweet Stop Sketch card.

The layout is an old Sweet Stop Sketch (SSS88) from back in December.
