CTD228 Crafted with Love

Hi all. It's Color Throwdown time and Tammy is our hostess this week. She picked a really pretty color combo for us this week. Check it out:

Here's what I came up with...

The rose stamp is an oldie of mine but one of my favorites to color; it's by Inkadinkadoo (stamp #90438). The sentiments are from Flourishes' Stitched For You.  Yes, I did add a little green to the leaves in my image (G40 Copic), but the rest of the image is strictly reds, pinks, and grays (0, W1, W3, R20, R22, R24, R29).  The sentiments were cut with SU's word window punch and MFT's file tab die.  The background was embossed with my swiss dots embossing folder, and some crochet ivory lace and silver pearls finish it all off. Oh, and the main image is up on foam tape.

I'm back with another bookmark. This one is for my cousin. She's a dog groomer and her favorite color combo is pink and black...hope she likes the image and the Melon Berry shade. The black mat circle is up on foam tape.

Featured Stamper - Terry (terrore3)

Yesterday's Featured Stamper on SCS was Terry (terrore3). Great gallery with lots to choose from. CONGRATS, Terry! :)

I chose to CASE her Always card. I love all the white space, the cuttlebugged dots along the bottom, and the Bella Rosa DP that she used. I used a different stamp, this Inkadinkadoo Rose stamp that I just bought at AC Moore...love this image! I also used different ribbon and added some pearls.

I stamped the image once onto the white base and colored it. Then I stamped a second image, watercolored the rose, leaves and one of the small flowers, cut it out, and popped it up on dimensionals over the base.

Our Creative Corner Challenge - Sketch #2

Hi everyone! For today's challenge on Our Creative Corner, Dawn has another sketch for everyone...and you can check out the sketch by clicking HERE.

My card is a 4" x 4" square card. The brown scalloped paper is one of the prints from SU's Afternoon Tea and the cream colored panel that the Happy Thanksgiving is stamped on is from the Fall Harvest Mat Pack DP that I picked up at Michael's. You probably can't see it in the picture, but this cream panel has a faint wheat print on it. The Happy Thanksgiving was stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed with Brown EP. All of the leaves are from SU's Autumn Harvest set. They were watercolored with Really Rust, Marigold Morning and Basic Brown Reinkers, cut out, and popped up on dimensionals. I glued down another square panel of the wheat printed DP to the inside of the card, and added one more watercolored leaf down in the lower left corner. See it peeking out at ya in the pic? :)

Seagulls

Yay, it's sketch challenge Wednesday on SCS! Here's the link to today's sketch from Roxie. I like it!!

The awesome seagull image is one that my friend Janice brought along this past weekend for us to play with. I'm sorry, I don't have the name of the stamp, but it's by Inkadinkadoo and I believe she said she found it at AC Moore. Thanks Janice!!

The image was colored with a combination of copic markers and prisma pencils. The prisma pencils were blended with gamsol and stumps that I FINALLY bought at the stamp show this past weekend. Up until then, I had been using baby oil to blend prismas...either product works just fine, but I think I like the gamsol just a little more now that I've tried the two ways. Oh, and the gamsol that I bought from Inky Antics at the show does NOT have any odor or fumes. {smile}

I stamped the image twice so I could use one for the base image and one for popping up on dimensionals. The larger white base layer is sponged in creamy caramel, and then I used the speckle stamp from the Itty Bitty Backgrounds set stamped in Basic Brown.

The edges of the inside panel are sponged in Creamy Caramel, and then I stamped some starfish, sand dollars, and shells in So Saffron and Basic Brown from the Crafty Secrets Seaside set.

Black Accents

Alllll week I've been oooohing and aaahing over Sharon's black accents...especially the black butterfly punches by Martha Stewart. This past weekend I *almost* bought the punch at AC Moore...held off....but then yesterday gave in and bought it. I knew that was going to happen, LOL! So anyway, here's a card for Sharon's Challenge today, which was to use black accents. My black accents are obviously the black butterflies (with the wings raised), black brads, and the scallop punching at the bottom of the black panel (also a Martha Stewart punch).

I love this Inkadinkadoo image with the butterfly sitting on the bird nest.....also purchased at AC Moore a while ago.

What's Your Color??

Hi all and happy Friday!!

Today's Limited Supply Challenge was to make a card using white and ONE other color. What's my color??... Lavender! As long as I can remember, I've loved purple...especially lavender. I had a lavender room when I was growing up and I have a lavender bedroom now as an adult. Okay...more than you needed to know, huh?

This card also combines Taylor's Sketch Challenge #9 from last week...just because I love the sketch...as well as Allison's Dotty Challenge, which was to make a card with dots. I love polka dots so I've been wanting to do this challenge all week!! My dots include the polka dotted ribbon, the swarovski crystals are dots (I think, right?), and I picked the Priceless stamp set, which also has dots! Weee!

Accessories: organdy polka dot ribbon, swarovski crystals, dimensionals, Nestabilities circle dies

Notes: There are three layers of dimensionals so this is a pretty *puffy* card. The first layer with dimensionals is the large white square that is on the base, all four lavender squares are up on a second layer, and the lavender circles are popped up on a third layer. The card size is 5" square.

Sunday's Featured Stamper - pickletree

Sunday's featured stamper on SCS was PickleTree. She has an amazing gallery!! :) Her card that I chose to CASE is here.

I loved the layout, colors, and the use of the twill and faux suede panel/belt. I also used the twill, same hardware, piercing, and same basic colors. I used a different image, added faux stitching to the piercing, and created my "belt" and panel using the shaving cream technique instead of the faux suede.

A tutorial for the shaving cream technique can be found here. I used soft sky and basic brown reinkers smeared onto very vanilla CS.

The brown/vanilla puppy layer is up on dimensionals, as is the sky/bayou layer. The Linen BG was stamped in blue bayou ink for tone-on-tone.
