Very green bunny card

Good morning! I got to do some *just for fun* stamping this a.m. while everyone was still asleep. I saw Danielle posted an adorable card with this High Hopes bunny the other day and realized I hadn't inked mine up for a REALLY long time. I wanted to make something with it before Easter comes and goes. The colors are from today's Color Throwdown and the layout is Mercy's Sketch #66.

The pearls were colored with a G24 Copic. The Garden Green panel is up on foam tape and I added a little bit of Diamond Stickles to the ribbon and lace on the bunny's bonnet.

Posing Bunny

Here's a card I made on Sunday for the High Hopes Sketch Challenge.



Michelle's awesome sample card that you can see HERE (so pretty!) reminded me about this Posing Bunny stamp I bought last year...one that I fell in love with but bought toward the end of the Easter season, so I never got a chance to make a card with it. Now I did! Love it!!

The Labels One Nestabilities panel is up on Dimensionals. I added Angel Wings Shimmerz paint to the white fur and tail. I also got to play with my new Parisian Breeze DP for the first time. The sentiment is from the SASI Year of Sweet Sentiments set.

A sketch from Our Creative Corner

My card is a long card. I took a 7.5" x 7.5" piece of Groovy Guava CS and folded it in half...it'll fit in a standard #10 envelope. The curve in the green floral print from the Afternoon Tea DP was done freehand. I also freehand pierced the holes, and then faux stitched with a Chocolate Chip SU marker.

Bethany in Bold Colors and a RAK

I saw this color combo on Kristina Werner's blog, LOVED it, and just had to try it. I also used Jen Del Muro's sketch from Saturday. I just turned the sketch so the angel image would fit. I think this is my favorite stamp from High Hopes. Just love everything about Bethany!

I saw on Laura's blog (scrapnextras) that she finished the inside of one of her cards with sponging and some extra stamping, so I thought I'd try it. If you look down in the lower left corner of the pic to the inside of the card, you'll see that I sponged a white sheet of paper with bashful blue and then stamped the "heart seeds" from High Hopes in Brilliant Blue. I think I'll start doing this to all of my cards...what an awesome way to finish it off! Thanks, Laura, you're such an inspiration! You can see Laura's card here.

I've been trying to incorporate more of the "halo effect" when coloring my images. I've done most in a really pale grey, and a few in a pale blue....but I saw Carolyn (Cammie) use yellow with this Bethany Angel image. I really like it in yellow for an angel. Now....I also *HAVE* to show you my big surprise from yesterday. I saw this card by Cindy (Mothermark), LOVED it, and mentioned it on the weekly Favorites Thread under the General Discussion Forum.....well, Cindy sent it to me!!! OMG!!! I love Cindy's work and her funny stories. I've admired her for a long time so it was an absolute awesome surprise that she mailed this card to me. Thank you, Cindy, I just about fell off my chair yesterday when I saw that you sent me this card!!! It's huge too....like 6.5" x 6.75" ?!?! Wowza!!! The clouds that she created are just amazing!!!

Sorry that I didn't post yesterday, but I cut my finger pretty bad. Oh, I didn't need stitches....but I came pretty close I think. I've typed this whole post today with the old "hunt and peck method" of typing (aren't you proud of me??) because that finger is wrapped in the biggest, ugliest ole' "balloon" of gauze and tape, LOL!

Christmas for Heroes and a RAK

I know, I know....did I say Christmas?....in May? Believe me, I'm totally in Spring and Summer card making mode, just like you. However, Cards for Heroes is in need of Christmas Cards for the troops. So, I got myself motivated and made 20 cards today!

I was a little stumped on what to do....but then I found this GREAT 10-minute card that Sharon (notimetostamp) posted on her blog yesterday....and it happens to be a Christmas card!! She's such a great inspiration. All her cards are so clean and simple, yet they have such great impact. I thought her layout would be perfect for mass production.

The card on the left is Sharon's layout. I just tied my ribbon differently, used a different stamp, and made my main panel a square instead of a rectangle. I got the cute High Hopes Meowy Christmas images from my friend Lori on the PIF thread (thanks Lori!). Oh, and speaking of the PIF thread, my friend Alison (Hi Alison!) is running a blog candy contest for people who send in Christmas Cards for Heroes. Playing with new stamps and paper

I have a couple cards today. The first is for today's Inspiration Challenge on SCS, which was a Safari Adventure Pack. I just got my new Timothy the Tiger stamp from High Hopes this week, and got him mounted just last night...so good timing! I followed Jen Del Muro's sketch from last week.

Timothy is colored with Papertrey's Summer Sunrise and Copic markers (warm grey #1, #3, and #7). The flower from Garden of Life was stamped in Summer Sunrise and cut out with scissors. The leaves from GOL were stamped in Old Olive and cut out as well. The flower behind the Much Appreciated sentiment is up on dimensionals.

The image is colored with prisma pencils, and blended with baby oil and stumps. The shadow around the outside of the image was done with Copics (warm grey #1 and #3). The oval Yum! sentiment is up on dimensionals.

Sweet Bethany Angel

Today's Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS was a "Follow the List" Challenge using scraps. Here are the rules for the challenge:

1. Make a square card (any size) ~~ Mine is 4.75" x 4.75"
2. Use only scrap pieces of paper (the base card doesn't have to be a scrap)
3. Use ribbon or fiber scraps
4. Use only ONE other embellishment ~~ Mine is the large pink and black polka dot brad in the center of the scallop
5. Use any colors, stamps, and tools

Bethany is colored with prisma pencils, and then blended with baby oil and stumps. Her wings were highlighted with Warm Grey Copic #1. The scallop sentiment was stamped in Purely Pomegranate, punched out with the SU Scallop Punch, and then I sponged the edges with Blue Bayou.

Here's a card for today's Color Challenge (CC160), combined with Julee's Sketch Challenge (Mojo #31) from yesterday. Fun colors and awesome sketch!

This is another image I received through the PIF forum. Thank you Janice!!

I took a piece of 10.5" x 5.25" caramel CS and folded it in half to make a 5.25" square card. The scallop circle is up on dimensionals, as is the Love Ewe sentiment. The main image is colored with a combination of copic markers (warm grey and tea rose) and watercoloring with ink pads (basic black and mellow moss). I made the sentiment on the computer using a font called CK Curly.

Lauren's Saturday Sketch

The froggy image was sent to me from my friend Janice through the PIF forum, which can be found on SCS under Swaps and Everything Else. Come join the fun. It's a great way to share stamped images! The more the merrier.

I drew the stitching onto the circles, and the froggy image is up on dimensionals. I took a 10.5" x 5.25" piece of Blue Bayou and folded in half to make a 5.25" square card. This size fits nicely in the 5.5" square envelopes from Stampin Up.
