Happy Bird-day

I made this card for a little girl who will be turning 7 next week.

The layout is MFT Sketch #60 from the SCS forum and the stamp/sentiment is from my "You're So Tweet" set.

....I really need to invest in a doily die. I bought these paper doilies from Mike's and they just DON'T match up to CS at all. On white CS, they look off-white....on off-white CS, they look white. Oye! Oh well, until I buy a die, they'll have to do. :)

Have a great day!

Georgie Cartwheel

Heehee...love the name of this digi image. Too cute! I made this card for one of K's friends who has a birthday coming up in a couple weeks.

The image is called "Georgie Cartwheel" and it's my Mo Manning. I colored the image with Copics and added some grass. The sentiment is from my Penny Black "Critter Party" set. Papers are "On the Bright Side-One" by My Mind's Eye. The layout is last Monday's Mojo Sketch #229.

Have a great Monday!

Celebrate!

Hey all! As promised, I made this card for my friend who got that GREAT news this week. Soooo happy for her!! :)

The cute little girl is Wryn from Tiddly Inks. She was colored with Copics and I printed off the digi image a second time onto DP so I could paper piece her dress. I added Stickles to the bird, her hair clip, sneakers and socks, and popped her up on foam tape. Papers are "On the Bright Side-Two" by My Mind's Eye. The "Celebrate" sentiment is from a misc stamp that I picked up at Mike's and the cool felt is from my good friend Dawn Easton. :) The layout is my spin on Deconstructed Sketch #40.

Hope you have an awesome Saturday!

Here for You

I made this card for another friend who was going through a tough cancer scare. I'm happy to say that this week she got GREAT news that she's cancer FREE! Whew!!!! I think I'll just hold onto this card and make her a different one that says CONGRATS or CELEBRATE or something like that instead. :)

The main image is one of my favorite Sarah Kay stamps from Stampavie. The sentiment is from MFT Stamps. The heart and die-cut ribbon (both from MFT Stamps) are up on foam tape. Stickles were added to the flowers and the little girl's hat for sparkle. The layout is Deconstructed Sketch 39....pretty much (lol!). Papers are Howdy Doody by My Mind's Eye.

Have a really great day, all!

Enjoy your day

...and here's another card for the Viva la Verve sketches. This one is for Week 3.

The stamped sentiment is from my "Big Wish" set. The white star and blue star are both up on foam tape. Papers are "On the Bright Side-One" by My Mind's Eye.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. :)

Hola Chica!

Hi there! I had a lot of "stampy time" yesterday and I made this card for the Week 2 Viva la Verve sketch challenge.

...yes, I'm in love with the Flutterby die in case you haven't guessed. ;) I love layering up two of them with foam tape, too. Papers are "On the Bright Side-One" by My Mind's Eye. The die-cut ribbon sentiment is up on foam tape as well.

Hope you have a really great day!

Hope

So this card was made for someone going through a breast cancer scare. {shaking my head}....breast cancer touches TOO many people. I won't get on a soapbox with all my thoughts about that horrible disease, but I will say this....if you're due for your yearly mammogram, *please* go get it done. :) Early detection really is key. Okay....'nuff said about that....

The stamp is from Whipper Snapper Designs. It's one of Anna Wight's cling sets called "Think Pink." Papers are "Howdy Doody" by My Mind's Eye, I sponged the paper doily with Ranger Vintage Photo ink, and I popped the main sentiment panel up on foam tape. I cut two butterflies out with Verve's Flutterby die and popped both of them up on foam tape as well. The layout is Freshly Made Sketch 22.

Hope you have a REALLY great Sunday! NASCAR is back so that's what will be on our TV today. :)

Kiss for Chloe

Hey there! Hailey's boyfriend asked me to make a valentine's card for her using this Sarah Kay "Kiss for Chloe" image, this custom sentiment, and he wanted it done in shades of purple. Ohhhh, this card was so much fun to make!

The layout is Sweet Sunday Sketch #151. I made the sentiment on the computer with the "Pristina" font. The die-cut sentiment flag is up on foam tape. Papers are My Mind's Eye Market Street.

He also asked me to incorporate a rose on the inside of the card so I pulled out my "Sweet Nature" set from Flourishes and colored up the long-stemmed rose....

I really hope she liked this card as much as I enjoyed making it. Have a great day, all!

Big Wish

Hi there. This weekend FLEW by, didn't it? It was a productive weekend for me. I started painting our rec room walls and stairwell on Saturday, made this card on Sunday morning, went to a (very COLD...OMG, brrrrrr!) 5k run with a couple running buddies, came home and did some more painting. I just have to do a second coat on three walls some night this week and I'll be allllll done. It's lookin' GOOD down there. The fresh coat of paint on the ceiling, stairwell and walls has made a HUGE difference. Very exciting! :)

So anyway....you're here about the card, right? :) I made this one for the Viva la Verve Week One Sketch:

Stamps are from Verve's "Big Wish" set, the banner sentiment (die from MFT) is up on foam tape, the My Mind's Eye Fine & Dandy Girl papers are machine stitched, the edges of the ivory panels were distressed with my fingernail, I colored the image with Copics, and Stickles were added to the cake and flower for extra sparkle. I think I'll send this card to my aunt. Her birthday is coming up next week.

Okay, that's it for me today. I gotta get to work now. Have a great Monday, all!

Wryn & Mo

Hey all! I can't believe I haven't stamped since last week. Seriously....things need to slow down for me a bit...too many balls in the air lately, kwim?? It's snowing here today, we're house bound, Kara is outside playing in the snow with Rusty....so yippee....time for me to make a card!

I just bought this Wryn & Mo-Love You Most image from Tiddly Inks so, of course, I couldn't wait to color it up. The die-cut circle with the main image is up on foam tape and so is the sentiment heart. I made the sentiment on the computer (Pristina font), printed it out on Melon Berry CS, and then die-cut it with an MFT heart die-namics. The layout is Deconstructed Sketch 38. Papers are Ohh La La by My Mind's Eye.

I suppose at some point today I'll start painting the walls in our rec room (desert orange and yellow....hopefully the colors will look good). For now though....I think I'll make another card! What are you up to this weekend?

:)

Get Well Soon

Hi everyone! Wow, it's been a whole week since I've had any stamping time.....hair appointment, doctor's appointment, gymnastics, kid sitting, work, a birthday party, sick kiddo, grocery shopping....busy busy. This morning I went out to breakfast with two of my girlfriends (fun!) and when I got home, I got to work on this card here. Ahhhh, felt good to make a card!

A family member will be coming home from the hospital this week and I wanted to make a card for him. Papers are Quite Contrary Jack & Jill by MME, sentiment is from Flourishes, stars are from Spellbinders, the ribbon die from MFT was scored to get the banner effect, and the red star is up on foam tape. Here's a close-up so you can see the dimension...

The card measurse 4.25" square and there's a little sewing around the outside of the patterned papers. Oh, and the ribbon is from PTI.

Okay, that's it for me today. I'm headed down to the kitchen to make chicken pot pie....the kind with a crust!....my favorite! Will you be watching the Superbowl tonight? We're not real big football fans (gasp, right?), but I'm sure it'll end up on TV at some point....even if it's just to catch some of the commercials.

Enjoy the rest of your day!
