Just a Blog Hop

Happy World Card Making Day! I've been SOOOOO looking forward to today for two reasons. One....I'm off in Wilmington, DE to enjoy a Copic class with Suzanne Dean...eeek! I'm so excited to see how that girl works her magic with Copics! Two....Jami Sibley had this SUPER FUN idea to put together a blog hop to stamp *Just for Fun*...choose either a new uninked stamp or an old favorite, choose a challenge to play in, and create a card and then mail it to someone.

If you came here from Charmaine Ikach's blog then you're right on track with the hop. If not, then you'll want to head over to Jami Sibley's blog to start the hop from the beginning. Next stop on the hop after me is Emily Gunnell.

I decided to use one of my favorite Whipper Snapper stamps that hasn't seen ink in a very long time. I think it's SOOO adorable and totally makes me happy. The Labels One nestie shape is up on foam tape and I added some diamond Stickles to her wings and the bubble dots. Thursday's Cute Card Thursday Challenge was to make a card with a time theme so I included the sentiment that came with the stamp....

Now hop on over to Emily Gunnell's blog and see what fun she has to show you today.

Thanks for visiting me.

Here's the other bookmark that Hailey asked me to make to give away as a birthday gift. Again, she picked out the color combo and stamp (I think she had fun going through my stamp cabinet!) so all I did was color the image and put it all together.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Fall Treat Holder

I was totally inspirated when I saw Dawn Burnworth's adorable little pumpkin bag....so inspired that I bought the Spellbinders Vine and Labels 10 dies JUST so I could make something similar. Hers is much cuter with more layers and embossing, but I'm okay with how mine came out. It's just for me to put in our foyer and I'll fill it with some candy corn. I may try making another one and going all out on more vines and sewn layers like Dawn did on hers.

Penny Black Slapstick stamps are available at Stamper's Dream. This one is called Hoppy Day.

Here's a side shot...

That's it for me today. Have a good one!

I scrapped too!

Hey, why not...since I'm on a roll with making things other than cards, right? LOL!

This photo was taken last year on one of Kara's preschool field trips. It was taken by one of the other moms (who is a photographer) and she gave it to Kara on her fifth birthday. I just loved it, especially the sparkle effect she added in the eyes, and I've had it hanging on my fridge since she gave it to us. Well, when OCL came out with the new Art of Nature set, I noticed that the wheat Kara is holding would match with the one stamp in the set and thought it'd be cool to make a scrapbook page with them together.

I started off following a layout from the September Page Maps site (the fourth one down on that link) but then the sketch sorta turned into something else. The turquoise circle and the tag are both up on Pop-up Glue Dots. I also added a "hidden" journaling tag....something that I think is really fun to do with scrapped pages. The tag tucks into that light purple panel and can be pulled out with the ribbon/button. Here's a close-up of the journaling tag...

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and I hope you enjoy what's left of the weekend.

I made a "thing"

LOL, I'm more of a card girl for sure and I don't make a whole lot of 3D items...or "things" as I call them. I have these awesome Reindeer Games and Reindeer Pun sets though and wanted to make something to include several jokes and punchlines all in one project. So check it out....I made a banner!

Now truth be told, I was going to make a joke "book" for my daughter or for my oldest niece, but....and this is why I don't normally make "things"....I didn't plan ahead very well and forgot to leave a place on all four pages where I could attach a ring. Duh! So hmmmmm, what to do? Instead I decided to make a banner! I've never made one of these before....but it was fun stringing it all together.

The above photo shows the banner all strung together with the jokes on the front. On the back is where I put all the punch lines.

I used lots of ribbon and gave a bunch of things dimension with Pop-up Glue Dots, on both the front and back.

Here are close-ups of each one (front and back)...

That's it for me today. Have yourself a WONDERFUL Saturday!

....and guess what? I'll be back on Monday to show you ANOTHER "thing".....oh my, again something other than a card.....it just might SNOW....here in PA....in September! LOL!
